Learner drivers.......scammer instructors!
Learners please be aware!!!!!!!!
Anyone can buy L Plates and pose as an instructor.
Anyone can buy a car top box and pose as an instructor.
But to be a legitimate instructor THEY MUST HAVE AND DISPLAY A DVSA LICENCE AT ALL TIMES WHILST TEACHING.
You cannot be an approved instructor without one and therefore legally can not receive payment for instruction without it.
My advice before parting with ANY MONEY.
Ask your instructor to show their licence before you begin lessons with them, as they legally have to have it displayed whilst giving tuition they should have no objection to you seeing it.
It may be pink or green in colour.
Pink means they are a training instructor and can still teach for reward.
Green means they are fully qualified and can also teach for reward.
Anyone else is scamming you!!!!!
Any legitimate instructor will happily boast their licence to you. It cost a fortune for them to train, qualify and purchase the licence every 4 years so they'll have no objection to proving who they are.
If they cannot prove that they are who they say they are, I would personally avoid them like we're all trying to avoid Covid.
Your instructors licence will have a expiry date on it on one side, and the other side will have your instructors licence number and a photo of them.
Check the photo, licence number and fails to date. If you are still not convinced, write the licence number down and check that the number can be clarified as the same person on this website https://www.gov.uk/find-driving-schools-and-lessons
If this all tallies up you should consider yourself taking lessons with an approved and registered instructor.
