Another load safety unloaded in the yard. 🪵🪾

A lot of work goes into getting timber from the forest floor to its end use, from harvesting and forwarding through to haulage and processing.

Seeing the stacks build up in the yard is always the rewarding part of the process. What a team effort! 💪🏻

Exciting news here at SimpArb, replacing our John Deere with a new to us Komatsu 875. Keeping kit updated and hopefully keeping downtime to a minimum.

In at the deepend at this site for our operator with some fairly steep slippy slopes, easily coping with the terrain

Not your average day at work.. 🚣‍♂️🌊

When a tree decided that the pond was a better place to be than standing upright, Ben was drafted into the navy for the day!

Armed with a chainsaw and a very small boat, he carefully worked his way out to the fallen tree, cut the stem, and then Tom pulled it safely back to shore.

The timber was left neatly stacked for the customer to make use of, and thankfully both operator and boat made it back to dry land in one piece! 😅

Just another day in the tree industry — where you never quite know what the next job will involve.

Our John Deere Forwarder has been hard at work extracting timber from this challenging site, with steep sloped embankments requiring careful planning and skilled operation to move the timber safely and efficiently.

The forwarder’s role is to transport all the timber products from the forest floor to the stacking area. Once stacked roadside, the timber lorry collects and deliveries it to its next destination for processing and use.

Rob has been busy hauling and offloading timber from one of our current forestry sites.

🪵 Mixed grade hardwood timber will be processed into firewoods. ♻️ Softwood will be chipped and supplied for renewable biomass energy production.

Operating on steep terrain with the John Deere harvester and forwarder. 🍃🪾🪵
Track performance was key to maintaining traction and stability on the steep ground conditions across site.

Following a downpour we have relocated operations to another section to keep production moving safely and efficiently and to reduce ground impact.

What have the teams been up to? 🍃

We’ve been carrying out a range of tree work across forestry and arboriculture, including thinning operations on a new woodland site, tree removals linked to subsidence claims, storm-damaged tree removals, works arising from tree safety surveys, and ongoing annual hedge trimming for regular clients.

This time of year is naturally quieter for us, particularly with environmental constraints.
