We were delighted to welcome so many visitors to the Castle and Retail Village yesterday, and we’re truly honoured that you chose to spend your Father’s Day with us 💙

The was buzzing with live music, talented artisan traders and delicious food from .bistro, creating the perfect atmosphere for a day out with family and friends 🍲🛍️

At the Castle, guests enjoyed lawn games, live music, a spectacular supercar procession and a breathtaking aerial display set against the stunning backdrop of Belvoir Castle 🏰

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. Seeing families come together and enjoy everything the estate has to offer made it a truly unforgettable day.

We hope you had as much fun as we did and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

Did you know Belvoir Castle is said to be the birthplace of afternoon tea? Legend has it that while saying at the castle in the 1840s, the Duchess of Bedford requested tea, sandwiches and cakes to bridge the gap between lunch and dinner - creating a tradition that lives on today.

Bring the taste of that tradition home with an array of Afternoon Tea products available at the Belvoir Farm shop. Local jams and pots of our custom Belvoir Afternoon Tea pots (currently just £2.50 👀)

At first glance, it's an adventure playground. But look a little closer and you'll discover it's also a tribute to a remarkable chapter in Belvoir’s history 🏰

The centrepiece ship is inspired by HMS Resolution, commanded by Lord Robert Manners, a celebrated naval officer and son of the 4th Duke of Rutland. Lord Robert was mortally wounded during the American War of Independence and died aboard the vessel in 1782, becoming one of Belvoir's most enduring historical figures.

His story inspired the book Resolution, written by the current Duke of Rutland and Emma Ellis, and it was this rich naval heritage that helped shape the vision for the playground you see today.

The design was championed by Lady Alice Manners, who wanted to create a space that not only sparked imagination and adventure for young visitors, but also paid homage to her father, the Duke, and his passion for Belvoir's naval history.

Today, children can climb aboard and set sail on imaginary voyages, all while unknowingly connecting with a story that stretches back more than two centuries ⚓

As you wander through Belvoir Castle’s gardens this summer (especially the Rose Garden now it’s in full bloom), you’ll notice plenty of bees happily bumbling amongst the flowers. But what many visitors don’t realise is that these aren’t just passing pollinators… many of them actually call the Belvoir Estate home 🐝

With 16,000 acres of parkland, woodland and gardens, Belvoir provides the perfect environment for honeybees to thrive. Alongside supporting local beekeeping, Belvoir is also involved in honey production using honey harvested from the estate’s own hives, as well as from trusted local businesses with hives across the Vale.

The result? Delicious, locally produced Belvoir honey available now from the Belvoir Farm Shop 🍯
