This week ive been working on cracked walls and window reveals.
Further build up of the base plaster started last week to level out and then 2 coats of finishing plaster applied, then a further 3 rooms which had lots of cracks in the topcoat plaster around windows and a back wall.
All walls checked to make sure the plaster wasn't blown, then cracks taped, angle beads cut to give straight, clean edges around the windows, then the walls were prepped and skimmed.

This week:

Artexed ceilings stairway and landing, my most difficult one to date due to the access. Stair scaffold, scaffold tower and platform placed in questionable positions over the scaffold to try and access the areas.

Preparing a room for skimming, cracked walls that ended up back to brick in multiple places so 1st coat of hardwall plaster applied and scratched ready for second coat of hardwall plaster and skim next week.

Reapiring cracks by scraping, filling, sanding and second fill, ready for final sand next visit.

And a review, which i really appreciate, thank you.

Plaster dries at different rates depending on humidity, temperature and the background being plastered over (artex, old walls, fresh plasterboard etc).
As the plaster drying process begins it darkens, and goes "blotchy" before starting to pale up and becoming more uniform in colour (normally between 5 days and 2 weeks depending on the surface being plastered onto)

This week i enjoyed a couple of days off with the family in the beautiful weather.

Then....

Sanding the other side of the door sanded 2 weeks ago, filling gaps in the wood and painting.
In between coats completed a couple of little jobs (repairing a wooden stand and adding wood above a window to bring curtains out from the wall a little - no photos of these)

Removing salt damaged plaster, fitting jacko board and skimming, blending into the existing plaster (POV video of full process start to finish after 15 seconds)

DIY door repairs
One where hinge screws aren't purchasing, one where the frame is split.

💡A screw in the top of the nozzle after use will prevent the tube drying out and keep it good for a couple of months 💡

This week ive been working on a hallway, stairs and landing.

Heavily artexed walls and artexed ceilings with a original bullnosed edge and birds beak, which I've maintained.

No pretty wet plaster, this is the reality of plaster drying. Completed over Tuesday, Wednesday and today all areas are in different stages of drying.
