It’s the small details that make the difference. Every panel moulding was run with a chamfer to create crisp shadow lines, adding depth and giving the finished feature wall a more contemporary feel once painted.

Quality craftsmanship is all about getting the details right.

Now ready to be handed over for paint, and we look forward to seeing this one fully finished.

A few recent bespoke touches completed by Going With The Grain Joinery.

From custom panelling and alcove storage to made-to-measure utility cupboards, we love the jobs that completely transform a space and make use of every inch available.

These older properties are full of awkward spaces and uneven walls, which is exactly where bespoke joinery comes into its own. Everything measured, built and fitted to suit the property properly no off the shelf compromises.

Another tidy transformation completed for a returning customer in Bishopton.

This kitchen was needing a lift without the cost and disruption of a full replacement, so we fitted Fibo gloss white metro brick wall panels to brighten the space up and give it a clean modern finish.

The best part? You still get the look and texture of real tiles without the upkeep of dirty grout lines. A practical, hard-wearing finish that completely freshens up the space while keeping maintenance to a minimum.

Simple upgrade… massive difference.

Older properties rarely accept standard doors without a bit of work.

On this project the customer wanted to avoid the cost of fully bespoke doors, so we altered the existing frames to make modern off-the-shelf doors work properly within the original openings.

Careful frame adjustments, precise fitting and clean finishing gave these old openings a completely updated look without compromising on quality or budget.

Everything finished, filled and handed over ready for paint.

Loft hatch and balustrade upgrade completed last week

Old opening reworked and fitted with a new drop-down loft system, paired with a solid oak balustrade to finish the landing off properly.

Simple changes that make a big difference to both access and the overall look of the space 👍

After a bit of disruption to the schedule, I’m back and straight into it 🔨

First big job back 7internal doors.
But with the frames looking tired and carrying years of paint, the customer decided to go the full way…

• All door stops replaced
• New facings throughout
• Frames stripped back and sanded ready for paint

No point doing it halfhearted if it’s getting done, it’s getting done properly 🤝

7 frames stripped and prepped
7 doors fitted with ironmongery
7 sets of door stops
14 sets of facings
3½ days work

Now handed over and ready for paint.

A bit quieter on here lately but we’ve still been busy behind the scenes.

Every now and then something comes along that’s bigger than work.

A family friend is taking part in a fundraiser this summer in memory of her son who tragically passed away last year.

They’re raising money for a local charity that provides su***de prevention and mental health support in the Inverclyde area.

Mental health is something that doesn’t get spoken about enough especially in the construction industry, where too many people struggle in silence.

It’s something I’ve had my own challenges with in the past, and I know how important the right support can be.
