Award winning RIBA chartered architects practice in Guildford. Our directors have a wealth of experience in most sectors of the construction industry.

Our residential experience extends from one-off houses to redevelopment projects of 900 new homes. In education, we have advised over 45 schools and universities in projects ranging from single classrooms, arts facilities, dining halls and sports arenas to whole-site masterplans. Commercial projects range from restaurants, speciality retail and offices to flagship retail stores for clients such as

House of Fraser. More recently, we have developed a particular expertise in luxury one off houses and interiors, in central London and the Guildford area. Architecture and the built environment is an integral part of our society and over the last 28 years Lytle Associates have helped to contribute to this both locally and regionally through our work in all sectors. Our approach is never prescriptive, instead we offer the benefit of our ideas, imagination and experience, all of which are extensive. We also take the time to understand our client’s background, understand their priorities and reflect these in our designs.

Before and after of our nearly completely project. The scaffolding has now been removed to allow for new landscaping works to commence. Great feedback from the Church Diocese and the local community complementing the team on a wonderful stone and brick match!

Mark and Ollie from our office had a great time attending the CIAT Architectural Technology Awards last week. As finalists in the Award in Architectural Technology for our New Build Contemporary House, we were proud to have our work recognised by CIAT as delivering excellence in architectural technology through this innovative and sustainable project.

We are delighted to welcome Emma Young as an Architectural Technologist to Lytle Associates. Emma has joined us following five years at a smaller practice in Godalming, where she worked on a number of listed buildings – including some large residential projects – from concept to completion. Prior to that, Emma was based in Wi******er for almost 15 years, working on high-end residential projects, and specialising in Arts & Craft properties.

In her free time, Emma likes to spend time outdoors with her family and new puppy Obi. She also helps organise training and fixtures for a local U7’s rugby team.

WELCOME Gemma 👋

Gemma joined us in June 2023, after five years working for a large heritage practice where she amassed a wealth of experience working on landmark projects, gaining both strong design and technical skills whilst seeing them though from concept to completion.

Her skills lie predominantly within the cultural, arts and high-end residential sectors, working with historic and listed buildings. Gemma brings a keen interest and enthusiastic approach to design team collaboration and coordination.

Outside of work, Gemma enjoys being outdoors, social and (trying!) to keep fit.

We are looking to employ a Junior or Senior Architectural Technician, on a permanent contract, to join our friendly office.

We are a respected architectural studio in the heart of Guildford, established over 35 years ago. We are run by four directors and twenty staff and are proud to be an Employee Owned Trust (EOT).

The successful candidate would work on a variety of interesting projects, including preparing building regulation submissions and tender & working drawing packages.

They would need to:

· Have a BTEC level 3, HNC or HND in construction
· Have a sound knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit and an understanding of the design process
· Be organised and efficient, with good attention to detail
· Be a team player, with strong written and oral communication skills
· Have a flexible and open approach to problem solving
The salary will be dependent on experience.

Following on from winning a South East Constructing Excellence award earlier this year, we’re delighted to share that we are now a finalist in the National Constructing Excellence Awards as well as in the Architectural Technology Awards with our ‘private contemporary home’ in Guildford.

We really enjoyed having four work experience students with us last month who are all considering architecture as a career. Ella, Gabriella, Vinnie and Robert came from four different local schools - Godalming College, St Peters School, Howard of Effingham School and Fullbrook & Fullbrook 6.
They all brought a fresh perspective to our mock brief to design a ‘pavilion structure’ in the castle gardens. They were all keen to learn and it was a real pleasure to have them here.
We wish these bright young things all the best for the future.

We are delighted to announce that Mollie in our office has achieved the status of certified Passivhaus designer, allowing us to ensure that we meet this quality assured standard for our clients, strengthening the Passivhaus design knowledge at the practice.

Mollie is currently undertaking her Master of Architecture course at the University of Portsmouth and has a keen interest in sustainability and the promotion of POE (post occupancy evaluation).

Lytle Associates Architects are registered with the International Passive House Association and the Passivhaus Trust UK.
