So this week I’ve actually had a little helper with me… I’d like to introduce you all to my son Logan 😊
Logan is 15 and is on work experience from school this week. He chose to come and work with me, and to be fair to him, he got stuck right in and had full hands-on experience from day one.
I had him using the electric sander, taught him how to fill, had him painting woodwork, rolling ceilings and walls, and even started teaching him a little bit about papering too today. We’re half way through, so I’m sure I’ll find some more things I can teach him before Friday!
Logan learns best by being hands on and actually doing the job rather than sitting at a desk, and he’s done really well this week.
I’m not too sure there’ll be a “Sean Carson & Son” in the future though, because if I’m honest, I’d rather he didn’t follow directly in my footsteps. Painting and decorating is very demanding on the body, and over the years I’ve ended up with joint pain in my knees, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck and back.
After summer, Logan will be attending college alongside school to study motor mechanics 2 days a week, so hopefully in a few years he’ll be fixing my vehicles instead of decorating with me 😂
Proud of you dude
