Hello! I'm starting to feel a bit autumnal this week so I thought I'd share a cosy living room reveal that I designed for some lovely clients in Wakefield last year. It's a 1960s house and previously, this space was part of a large open-plan living-dining-home office. Because the clients wanted a cosy and relaxing area where they could escape to in the evenings, I suggested separating the living area off from the rest of the room. The clients have a lovely collection of artwork which we incorporated and we also kept the existing carpet and footstool. Here's what we did:
🍁 Colour drenched the whole room in Little Greene's Ambleside - a lovely relaxing dark green.
🍁 Introduced warm, autumnal colours as accents.
🍁 Had a bespoke media unit built to house the TV and create lots of storage.
🍁 Used a mix of textures and pattern to add interest.
🍁 Introduced different light sources (ambient, task and mood lighting) for flexibility.
The clients did a great job of implementing the design and this room feels like a completely different space now! I'll be sharing photos of the rest of the ground floor next week. Have a lovely weekend!
