JDR Fencing Ltd was established in 1993 and specialises in the supply and installation of timber and metal fencing for all privacy and security requirements. Our head office is in Hamilton although we offer a service across Scotland. Our company has been erecting timber and metal fencing for many years in a wide range of house building projects and commercial developments for principal contractors

throughout Scotland. We continue to enjoy a status of preferred fencing contractor with a high percentage of the largest building contractors in Scotland. We have experience in installing security fencing in recreation areas, park and ride retail developments and factory premises. We supply and erect site compound timber hoarding to large construction sites including temporary demarcation timber fences to allow safe access to and egress from sites, contractors’ car park areas and storage/loading areas. We can erect all styles of metal fencing including palisade, vertical railing, bow top railing, v-guard system, weldmesh, sports and recreational fencing. Our timber products are environmentally sustainable and manufactured in reputable Scottish sawmills, and are supplied preservative treated for lasting quality. JDR Fencing Ltd is an accredited member of CHAS, Constructionline, SMAS, EFIA and ISO 9001. We pride ourselves on our commitment to Health and Safety issues and we have an extensive training record in this area. JDR Fencing Ltd also has a retail division operating five days a week from our Hamilton premises. We supply a wide selection of landscaping products to both the public and trade. Our retail yard has been able to pass on savings to the majority of local fencing/landscaping contractors and domestic customers by selling quality materials at extremely competitive prices.

DRIVER/YARD OPERATIVE

Immediate Start Available

We are looking for a flexible person for a dual role of Driver/Yard Operative within a busy timber merchant.

The role will be mainly as a Driver delivering goods on our 3.5 tonne pickup however there will be some occasions where you will be required to assist in the Yard.

Main duties: • Delivering goods on a 3.5 tonne pickup (full driving licence essential) • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles by hand or with a forklift truck • Picking and packing orders • Serving and checking customer collections • Keeping work areas clean and tidy • Ensuring all duties are carried out as part of a safe working environment in strict compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures (including manual handling).

The Package

Permanent contract.
Full time hours, typically 41 & 1/2 hours (Mon-Fri)
Pay rate meets National minimum wage.
20 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Our Requirements

Suitable level of fitness to be able to carry products such as Posts, Postmix, Garden Sleepers etc.
Friendly and customer service focused, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexibility towards tasks and hours
Full UK driving licence.
This is a key customer facing role, so you will need great interpersonal skills. A forklift truck license would be desirable, however not essential as training can be provided. Experience in a busy timber yard or working with fencing & decking would be advantageous. You’ll have previous experience as a Driver and hold a full UK driving license. What we are looking for is someone with a friendly and flexible personality who is happy to communicate face to face with customers.
