🔨 Brickwork repair & drainage improvement completed ✅

This job started with a section of brick wall where the old pointing had completely failed. The weak and perished mortar left the wall vulnerable to water pe*******on, frost damage, and general weathering — all of which can shorten the life of the structure.

We carefully raked out all of the old, crumbling mortar joints before rekey-pointing the wall using a strong, standard mortar mix. This not only restores the wall’s strength but also gives it much better protection against the elements while freshening up the overall look.

Alongside this, we carried out important preventative work at the side of the property. A soakaway was installed to improve water drainage and direct rainwater safely away from the building. This step reduces the risk of damp issues inside the home and helps prevent long-term structural damage caused by excess water pooling near the foundations.

A combination of repairs and preventative work — leaving the wall solid, weatherproof, and the property better protected for years to come.

✨ Another full job completed with care and detail ✨

We began by stripping the garden back to basics, removing all the overgrown weeds and carefully levelling the ground to ensure a solid and even foundation. This preparation was key before laying down the decorative stones, which will give a clean, low-maintenance finish while also improving the overall look of the property.

Next, we turned our attention to the fencing. The old, weathered slats were replaced with brand-new timber, each one individually cut and measured by hand for a precise fit. Taking the time to do this properly ensures the fence not only looks sharp but will also last for years to come.

As part of the project, we also carried out some much-needed repairs to the neighbouring public pathway. Several slabs had become uneven over time, so we realigned them and set them securely in place with cement mortar. This not only tidies up the appearance but also makes the pathway safer for everyday use.

A full job from start to finish — combining groundwork, fencing, and pathway repairs — leaving both the customer and their neighbour happy with the end result.

A full upgrade carried out for this property 👷‍♂️🔨

This job involved several stages to bring everything back to a strong and tidy finish:

âś… First, we removed the old worn tiles and prepared the ground properly before relaying the area with new, solid slabs. This gives a much cleaner look and ensures a durable surface for years to come.

âś… Next, we took down the old rotten fence and gate that were no longer secure. We then installed a brand new fence and gate, providing both strength and security while also improving the appearance of the property.

✅ Finally, attention was given to the front wall. The rough cast was broken and perished in areas, so we carefully patched it in and then applied a cement wash coat. This not only restored the wall’s appearance but also added extra bonding strength and protection against future weathering.

The result is a fresh, secure, and well-finished exterior that really lifts the look of the property while ensuring long-lasting quality.

Quick Turnaround – Happy Customer, Happy Neighbour!

Got called out to replace a damaged post and re-hang a gate. During the job, I discovered that several of the fence rails were rotted – so we got those replaced too, along with setting the new post and getting the gate up all in the same day.

We did have to piece into the post slightly to hang the gate properly – not ideal, but moving the post wasn’t an option due to the way the original fence was built.

In the end, the customer was absolutely over the moon with the result – and we even picked up more work from the neighbour next door!

BEWARE OF COWBOY BUILDERS!

Got called out to help an elderly lady after a so-called “builder” completely botched her front steps. Instead of doing the job properly, he slapped cement mortar over the slabs and told her it was a good job. Shocking.

I had to use a couple of careful methods to remove the mess without damaging the original slabs – not easy, but I managed to get every bit of the mortar off.

Once it was all cleaned up, I re-key pointed the steps the proper, professional way – the way it should’ve been done in the first place.

Step Repair on a Budget – Practical & Honest Solutions

Not every job needs a full replacement—and not every budget allows for one. For this recent project, the customer was looking to make her front step safe and usable again without committing to the cost of a full rebuild.

We discussed a few options and, with everything clearly explained, she chose a temporary repair that would get the job done while keeping costs down.

We carefully pieced together the broken slab, using a combination of fixtures, mortar, and cement bonding agents to give it strength and stability. The damaged bricks were also dressed and faced to improve appearance and extend the life of the bricks.

A solid result for now—with the understanding that it’s a temporary fix, and we’ll be here when she’s ready for something more permanent.

Front Step Extension with Non-Slip Finish

We completed a front step extension to suit a newly repositioned front door. Originally positioned to the left, the door was moved to the center of the property, which meant the existing step no longer aligned with the entrance.

We carefully built out the step using bricks, ensuring a solid foundation and backfilling with a mortar mix to provide long-term strength and stability. The job was finished with a non-slip tile surface, offering both safety and a clean, modern look.

Engineer Brick Wall & Step Wall – Full Restoration

A full restoration carried out on this engineer brick front wall and step wall, all built as one continuous structure.

We started by grinding out all the old mortar and removing any damaged bricks, prepping the entire wall for a clean and solid re-key pointing. Once repointed, we finished the job with two coats of impregnating sealer, giving the brickwork long-term protection against moisture, staining, and frost damage.
