MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd have been providing a second to none service for over 25 years. The proud decorators of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Our privately-owned Company was established in 1993 although its foundations go back to 1986, when our Director, Mr. Michael McCarthy, decided to set up his own business. The Company has grown year by year and our highly skilled workforce has undoubtedly enabled this steady growth to take place. MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd is structured to provide decorating services to our main contractors wi

th project package values ranging from £1,000 up to £1,500,000. The Company specialises in all aspects of painting and decorating and whilst we are happy to carry out work for private individuals our main emphasis is on the commercial sector. Our commercial work is carried out nationwide and includes work completed on schools, hospitals, museums, offices, factories, colleges and universities. We are specialist in applying fire protection coatings and are approved applicators for Nullifire. The Company is fully committed to protecting the environment and are actively seeking the eco-friendly route in all aspects of our business. We currently hold the certificate for can recycling at Dulux Decorator Centres where we recycle 100% of our waste. Also, MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd have just taken delivery of the first solar powered Envirowash system which enables us to clean all of our decorating tools and dispose of our un-used paint in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. The system is the worlds first to be run completely on solar power alone and will allow us to recycle our wash water up to 10 times.

🏡 PROJECT SHOWCASE – LUMO @ EDDINGTON, CAMBRIDGE 🏡

Fantastic to see the first plots completed at Lumo @ Eddington — and what an impressive development this is becoming.

MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd are proud to be working alongside Durkan Homes on this fantastic project, with the sales suite and first 10 homes now completed, including two beautifully finished show homes.

The completed plots look outstanding, showcasing the quality, detail and care that goes into delivering these fantastic new homes. A huge well done to everyone involved, from the Durkan site team through to our decorators who have worked incredibly hard to achieve such a high standard of finish.

It’s been a pleasure working with Durkan on our first project together and we’re looking forward to continuing the development and delivering many more homes at Lumo @ Eddington.

🏫 PROJECT COMPLETE | LINCROFT ACADEMY, BEDFORD 🏫

We’re delighted to showcase our recently completed decoration works at Lincroft Academy, Bedford for The M&J Group.

This fantastic new education facility has been finished to a high standard throughout by the MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd team, combining durability, performance and a modern architectural finish.

🎨 Specification included:

✅ Exposed steel ceilings finished using Zinsser Allcoat Commercial, creating a clean industrial look while offering excellent long-term protection.

✅ Feature ceiling areas continued down the walls with a 600mm drop “tide line” detail, creating a striking design feature and a seamless transition between the exposed ceiling areas and wall finishes.

✅ Dulux Trade Diamond Matt applied throughout — providing a premium, durable and washable finish ideally suited to a busy educational environment.

The combination of exposed services, feature colours, acoustic panels and high-performance coatings has helped deliver a modern learning environment built to withstand everyday use.

A huge well done to our team for delivering another quality project and thank you to M&J Group for trusting MJM with the decoration package.

🏡 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!🏡

Another huge milestone this week for MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd as we commence our first project with national housebuilder Bellway Homes at their fantastic Cathedral Rise development in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Cathedral Rise is located on the outskirts of the historic city of Ely, delivering 300 new homes as part of this exciting new development.

We’re extremely proud to add another major name within UK housebuilding to our growing portfolio of clients and are excited for the opportunity to showcase the quality, consistency and attention to detail our team delivers.

A big thank you to the Bellway team for the opportunity. We’re looking forward to this being the first of many projects in a growing relationship.

🏡 NEW PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT 🏡

MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd are delighted to announce the start of our first project with Redrow, part of the Barratt Redrow group, at their fantastic Redrow at Salden Place development in Milton Keynes.

This marks an exciting milestone for MJM as we begin a new working relationship with one of the UK’s leading housebuilders. We look forward to demonstrating the quality, reliability and attention to detail that our team has built its reputation on over the past 30+ years.

Salden Place is an impressive new community situated on the edge of Milton Keynes, showcasing Redrow’s renowned Heritage Collection homes — combining traditional character with modern family living and energy-efficient design.

Today marked our first milestone on site, with our team completing the first mistcoat and officially commencing our decorating works.

The focus now turns to completing the new show home and sales area later this month, ensuring the finish reflects the high standards expected throughout the development.

A huge thank you to the Redrow team for trusting MJM with this opportunity. We’re excited to get started and look forward to building a strong and successful partnership together.

We’re pleased to announce that MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd have secured the decoration package for the new crematorium at Mepal, working alongside Kier Construction.

The project will involve the full internal decoration of the facility, including the chapel, waiting areas, offices and ancillary spaces. All finishes will be completed using Dulux Decorator Centre products, ensuring a high-quality, durable finish throughout while helping to create a calm and respectful environment for visitors.

We’re proud to be part of such an important project for the local community and look forward to delivering the high standard of workmanship expected of us.

🚧 🏗️ We are delighted to have completed the early preliminary soffit spraying works at Sawston Village College for Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd using Johnstones Trade Paints throughout 🦺

This is an exciting project to be involved in, and we’re proud to have delivered these initial works on programme and to a high standard. Once complete, the development will provide a modern learning environment for students and staff, and we hope to tender for and secure the main decoration package later in 2026 🤞🏼🤞🏼

This is an important milestone for our team and we’re proud to be working with Durkan Homes on this development. Our team will be delivering the decorating package across the scheme using Crown Paints products throughout.

Works have already started on site and we’re looking forward to building a strong working relationship with the Durkan Homes team and delivering the high-quality finish expected on the Lumo, Eddington project.

We’re delighted to share that MJM (Painters & Decorators) Ltd has been awarded the decorating package for BAM Construction’s refurbishment of 20 Giltspur Street, London.

Located in the heart of the City, just a short distance from St Paul’s Cathedral, this ambitious redevelopment will transform a 1990s commercial building into a modern, sustainable workspace.

Our local labour team will be carrying out the decorating works, using Dulux Trade Diamond Matt across the majority of the project and spraying Zinsser AllCoat Commercial to soffits and services. These high-performance products will ensure a durable, professional finish throughout.

We’re proud to support BAM Construction in delivering another high-quality, sustainable development in the heart of London.

Project Update – Marleigh 1D, 1E & P2 - Cambridge 🏗️🦺

We’re delighted to share that we’ve secured and begun work on the decorating contract for Marleigh Phase 1E in Cambridge for Hill Partnership.

This phase comprises 125 plots in total – 101 houses and 24 apartments – with works continuing into 2027.

Our team is also nearing completion on Phase 1D, which includes 98 plots, due to finish in the coming weeks.

In addition, we are proud to be progressing well on Phase 2, where we’ve been entrusted with the decoration of 140 apartments over 8 blocks – half of which have already been completed, with the remaining homes scheduled for completion by Easter 2026.

We are extraordinarily proud to have been trusted to deliver the decoration on all live schemes at Marleigh in Cambridge and look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Hill Partnership in the years ahead.
