Delighted to have obtained another planning approval on behalf of our friends The Little Ale House for a replacement rear extension, complete with a second floor roof terrace.

Negotiations with the planning department led to the removal of the timber cladding and balustrade from the original design, to be replaced with stone and glass, which option do you prefer?

Exciting plans to come above Harrogate's best pub, watch this space!

Our scheme for the new Harrogate West Business Park is looking great in the Summer sunshine, with the largest building on the development site recently handed over by main contractor Sutcliffe Construction LTD, ready for an interior fit out by Ben Johnson Interiors

This 65,000sft new premises for EnviroVent, proud sponsors of Harrogate Town AFC, brings their head office, assembly facility, warehousing, showroom and training suite together into one purpose-built headquarters and features photovoltaic panels,
air source heat pumps and heat recovery systems.

To the north side of the new estate road there is a new 10,000sqft headquarters for BioClad, together with ten speculative units for the teakwood investment group ranging in size from 2,500sqft to 5,000sqft.

The majority of these units have already been leased to growing local companies including Yorkshire Flapjack, Vibe Print, Yorkshire Energy Systems, Lift and Yorkshire Radiators.
Joint commercial agents for the last couple of units are Carter Jonas and Fordy Marshall.

We have recently completed designs for the redevelopment of Bridge House, a 4-storey 1960's office block located in Horsforth, Leeds.

The planning application submitted by Savills seeks to convert the retained block into 29 apartments and features a rooftop extension for a further 6 apartments.

A new 2-storey block of 8 apartments replaces the current depot structure and forms the western flank to a new landscaped courtyard, located above undercroft parking.

The proposals transform the dated 1960's appearance with new natural stone cladding with ashlar detailing and aluminium framed windows & doors, creating an overall contemporary aesthetic,

completed by the zinc standing seam clad rooftop addition. The new-build block adopts a more traditional approach to suit the massing of adjacent residential dwellings.

The majority of apartments benefit from gardens, terraces or balconies and all units will have access to communal gardens.

The design team comprises Savills, Curtins, SLR Consulting, Fore Consulting and Brooks Ecological alongside SPX.

Pleased to have recently obtained a planning approval on behalf of our friends The Little Ale House for a new canopy to the front of the pub in the Harrogate Conservation Area. The design was developed in collaboration with and the works will also include the removal of the existing shop style signage and restoration of the stone facade and timber eaves detailing.

As stated in the Harrogate Conservation Area Character appraisal:
“One distinctively Harrogate feature is the presence of cast-iron canopies to many shops. There are far fewer than there used to be and their reinstatement is encouraged." Looking forward to testing it out! 🍻

We've recently submitted a planning application for a new house in the Harrogate Conservation Area. The design includes the extension of one of the "most impressive and distinctive terraces" in the Harrogate Town Centre, the existing terrace is
described in the Harrogate Conservation Area Character Appraisal as being "of particular local interest and merit ... on account of their architectural distinction, historic significance or importance to the townscape." The Victorian Terrace was Constructed by Mary-Ann Pearson around 1870 and remains remarkably unchanged on the whole.

Care has been taken to continue the strong rhythm of the existing terrace; The proposed bay window has been designed to match the existing bay windows proportionally, whilst having a language and style of its own. Like other local contemporary examples in close proximity, the style and detailing of the proposals are simplified and less decorative than the surrounding historic context with subtle details, such as stone banding and window transoms,
aligning with the existing terrace to assist in visually connecting the new with the old.

A selection of site photos from our ongoing transformation of a derelict site in the heart of Holmfirth into a new venue featuring a cafe, kombucha tea brewery, gallery and occasional film showings... Nowhere!

Over the course of the twentieth century, what remained of the pair of nineteenth century houses had been used as a saddlery, workshop, slaughterhouse and garages, but the site had been largely abandoned decades ago.

Our Client is taking inspiration from the local arts community and events such as Holmfirth Art Week and Holmfirth Film Festival in the provision of a creative and social hub for local people. In his words:

“Nowhere will be a multi-functional space and offers will include a local and community social venue; a gallery for creative arts by local artists and artisans and occasional films; a café bar - snacking and culinary dishes by local cooks and chefs, serving organic food and drinks and using seasonal ingredients sourced and grown locally."

After several years in the making, this imaginative conversion and extension scheme is scheduled to be completed this summer... and we are very excited to see the venue finally unveiled to the public!
