The box caterpillar is a destructive little thing that causes no end of damage to the plant within days.

A very interesting job the previous landscaping company backfilled soil under these Portuguese laurels making the planting depth to deep which has potentially caused the powdery mildew on them (the white stuff on the leaves) we have removed the soil making the planting depth just right and we then installed some lovely wood chip which is also great for keeping moisture in the ground just what trees and shrubs need on those hot days! we gave the hedge the TLC it deserves by giving it some soil treatments and spraying for the powdery mildew
