Shop Assistant Vacancy – Luff’s Farm Shop (Headley, near Bordon)

Luff’s Farm Shop is a busy and welcoming pet shop, gift shop, and garden centre located in Headley, near Bordon.
We are currently looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual to join our team on a full-time basis.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday
Alternate weekends required
A set weekday day off each week

About the Role:
This is a varied, hands-on position involving all aspects of shop work across our pet, gift, and garden centre departments. No two days are the same, and you’ll be an important part of keeping the shop running smoothly while providing excellent service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Serving customers and delivering a friendly, helpful shopping experience.
Operating the till and handling transactions accurately.
Stock replenishment, merchandising, and maintaining attractive displays.
Receiving and checking deliveries.
General cleaning and upkeep of the shop floor and work areas.
Assisting customers with product advice across pet, gift, and garden ranges.

Requirements:
A friendly, approachable manner with excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work well both as part of a team and independently using your own initiative.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to take on a variety of tasks in a busy retail environment.
Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting (including bags of pet feed, compost, and other stock).
Flexibility and reliability.

Desirable:
A full UK driving licence

🌿 WEEKEND SALES ASSISTANT WANTED 🌿
(Saturdays & Sundays)

We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual to join our small, friendly team on a weekend basis (both Saturdays and Sundays). This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys interacting with customers, and thrives in a hands-on environment.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:
• Operating the till and handling transactions accurately
• Assisting customers in-store with a helpful and approachable manner
• Supporting customers with larger purchases, including helping carry items to their vehicles
• General shop duties, including stocking, tidying, and maintaining a tidy workspace
• Handling deliveries and some heavy lifting as part of day-to-day tasks

✅ What We’re Looking For:
• An excellent, friendly “can do” attitude
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work well as part of a small team
• Good communication and customer service skills
• A proactive and dependable approach

📍 Additional Information:
• Own transport is desirable due to our location
• We’re looking for someone who enjoys a practical, active role and doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty. Duties include working both indoors and outdoors.
