We're starting discussions on what decarbonising a very energy intensive industry might look like (mostly on LinkedIn)

It feels like a long time ago we handed this building over to the amazing team Lindores Abbey Distillery - great to see them get to the real end goal, Whisky!
You can find it for sale through some of you favourite local whisky sellers - we'll be enjoying a wee snifter or two today... slàinte mhath!

The Spiritual Home of Scotch Whisky, revived after 523 years.

In addition to drawings/3d images at the design stage, we will regularly provide a walkthrough video of the design options - although not photorealistic these can give a real good impression of the sequence and quality of spaces and a lot easier to understand than traditional plans and sections.
This one of 4 (or maybe 5) options we explored for a reconfigured kitchen and utility with an additional family sitting room connected to the garden - we find we get great feedback from clients with these as they can really start to imagine themselves using the spaces.
If you have a problem with your current home and not sure what the fix is, we can help work through that with you, get in touch and tell us some more!

Another project type we're seeing more and more of is conversion of outbuildings into useful domestic spaces.
Sometimes the constraints of working within an existing footprint, around other buildings, can mean you have to explore different options for getting daylight in as you can be limited to where windows might go.
This one along in Rhu gives the homeowner much needed additional space, providing a great home office, shower room and lounge which can also double up as great extra space when family come to visit.

We tend to use different presentation styles at different stages of projects to communicate as effectively as possible with our clients.
The design process is something that needs honest client feedback to get the most from it - we work closely with clients to understand their lifestyles, tastes and priorities for their project then try to translate that all into a building (it takes a bit of doing!)
Communication is critical on projects for everyone involved!

What do you do when you need more space and you've got a house on a sloping site with a big underbuilding?
This one took a bit of thinking but we managed to get a new annex on the lower ground floor of this existing house for our clients parents to have their own space close to the rest of the family.
We can't wait to see them in!

Recently we've had a flurry of enquiries from homeowners looking to reconfigure their houses to suit their lifestyles - this one in Stirling Council area had a few technical challenges to overcome to give our clients the bright family dining kitchen, whilst hiding away a useful sized utility room and accommodating a dedicated work space.
All of our projects start with the premise that whatever you build has to work very hard as even the smallest project is a significant investment!

Another one from the smaller end of the spectrum!
This is a wee cracker overlooking Tobermory Bay which needs a complete renovation and a replacement extension after sitting empty for a few years, it will be great to see it back in use and lived in.
It was a real challenge to work with our clients to achieve spaces which suit modern living in a very constrained footprint - but we got there in the end!
We're still in the midst of the planning process with it, but fingers (and everything else) crossed we can get it liveable soon.
This one is within a designated conservation area which sometimes needs a bit of extra navigation but we always try hard to propose interventions which enhance and build on the character of the buildings.

We've been very quiet on social media recently - mostly because we've been busy in the real world!
There's a lot of smaller domestic projects which we've been working on with some great clients - not being able to sit around a table with a coffee to discuss design ideas has been a challenge.
The most important part of the process is communication so we've been trying to use all the tools we have!
This one in the national park is an extension to a house which has been added to and adapted over a number of years (and owners) so first job really was to look at how we could reconfigure the existing spaces to make the most of the house before adding anything.
This house has what can only be described as a magnificent view to the cobbler which can now be seen from the main living spaces of the house...
Give us a shout if you've got problems with your house that could use an intervention!
