We now have our second holiday let up and running. This lovely new build character apartment is spacious with room to accommodate a couple or up to five people. Lovely views over open fields with use of the extensive gardens. Secure gated parking area.

The sun is out and the garden is coming to life again 🥰. Spring is in the air and our lovely cottage garden has started to show its gorgeous spring flowers ready for 2026. With the majority of our building work done - this year the garden should really come to life recovering from all the diggers and dumpers that have disturbed their flower beds. The first crocus’s, snowdrops and aconites begin the beautiful displays we get now through to the daffodils, tulips and bluebells. This is a real spring garden. ☀️
Ending the day with a lovely real fire for a cosy evening in.

Wow what a season at our holiday let cottage in Cromer. Our back to back bookings that started in May are now coming to an end. Reading the guest reviews is heart warming to know our home from home is appreciated. Our longest season yet! 🥰 Why not try a winter break with us in the cosy cottage near the sea. Walking distance to coastal path with both Cromer and Overstrand beaches just a short distance away. Your own off street parking space is a bonus. We might have fitted a new modern kitchen into our restoration project with all the conveniences of twenty first century living but let’s add some vintage touches to bring the charm of the original nineteenth century living. Old world charm dresser which has so many stories to tell of living in this cottage for a very long time, just had a gentle sanding and a feed of new nourishing wood stain to bring a little life back into the wood. Knocks and stains from over the years still remain to keep its stories visible. A vintage light wood plate rack has had an updated refresh to change its colour to match the new scheme. Let’s show this is a working kitchen and hang our everyday items, freeing up cupboard space for those not so often used items. Natural materials of the baskets and boards enhance the walls and make these items easy to access. Keeping with the natural materials theme the new beams give a richness to the entire room to bring the homely feel and show the structure and integrity of the building. Local craftsmen using long held skills created these beautiful structures on site just as it may have been when the original cottage was built all that time ago.
Starting to feel like a home now!

A little bit of tranquility in our new master bedroom - an ideal spot for afternoon reading. Create that little spot for yourself it is so rewarding. 💕 Finding all those little pieces to come together and make a house a home.

And a new season begins - looking forward to welcoming our guests in 2025! Stones Throw Cottage is ready and waiting for our visitors to arrive throughout this coming year.
Views on the lovely walk along the coastal path into town from the cottage are beautiful. Leave the car behind at your personal off street parking and stroll along the footpath 😁. Wonder down the steps to the beach or carry on to town for the many eateries and individual shops. From inspiration to concept - our boot room now finished. The first photo was my inspiration on how to complete our small boot room but at a cost of £500+ it’s not going to happen! So two marketplace purchases of a tall cd rack and a tired looking coat hook £40 spent and I was away 😁. Turn the cd rack on its side and paint both items to match in Annie Sloan Duck Egg. Get our builders to install the cd rack now bench raised against the wall so room for boots underneath. The coat hooks above and we look like it’s coming together. A length of MDF free from a good friend and some fabric and foam - an afternoons work and a comfy padded cushion was ready to go on top. A set of small baskets I already had fitted neatly in the ‘cubes’. At a fraction of the cost our boot room is now complete and ready to be used. Imagination is everything 🥰

The Pantry 🥰 - something on my wish list for our restoration project. This space used to be a small entry porch into the old cottage and was now an area in the corner of our new kitchen. Ideal place for a pantry ✔️- builders blocked up the old doorway and I asked them not to take down the old walls of this little porch area. Hey presto we have a pantry now to fit it out. Showed Dave the first three photos here from my ‘ideas’ scrapbook. Well I think he covered the brief. Now a fully functioning pantry in the corner of my new kitchen. Lots of storage space - several ‘kitchen’ boxes now unpacked. Found somethings I’ve not seen for nearly four years and now they are to hand and ready to use again. My bargain buys of kilner/storage containers now to be filled with goodies.

Who’d have thought what was behind this old 1970’a kitchen? We found and restored the chimney breast and now this new guest bedroom has a lovely fireplace to match the age of this 200 year old cottage. The ensuite is looking good with the teal accents in the tiles and feature wall - a bit better than the old boiler room! Falling in love with the cottage again as we move forward with the build 💕🏡.

The changes are coming along - the front of the cottage from when we moved in to now. Still more to do but loving having a new window on the side elevation.
