All of our projects begin with a focused briefing and feasibility process enabling us to identify key criteria and fully explore client objectives. With these priorities leading the process, and with careful consideration of both budget and deadline, we then develop a range of options intended to meet, and go beyond, the specified requirements. Working closely with our clients, ideas evolve to form a final proposal, always with the end goal to maximize the potential of a particular scheme.

After years of careful restoration and collaboration, this elegant, Grade II-listed Georgian house and estate was brought back to life and sensitively woven into its secluded landscape surroundings.

Spratley & Partners completed the dramatic transformation of the 430-acre site in Hampshire into the UK’s most eagerly anticipated, luxury hotel in 2018, after a significant programme of restoration works which began in 2009.

Manser Medal Shortlist

We can reveal that our project ‘Hill View' is shortlisted for this year’s Manser Medal - AJ House of the Year. The prize champions architectural excellence in a new-build or significantly extended and refurbished house.

A splash of turquoise copper cuts into the landscape rising above the chalky tones of linear bricks which echo the strata of the Chilterns and embeds the building into the sloping site. The design uses bold accent colour and linear form to create an exciting yet rationalised family home.

Hill View replaces a sprawling bungalow, and is a playful one-off contemporary house on a site that has amazing views in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The design responded to the clients brief to maximise light and create a feeling of space. Hill View presented the opportunity to build a unique house, taking inspiration from the clients love of architecture and travel, especially in Italy. The new house celebrates domestic living with open plan architecture and flowing multifunctional spaces framed by floor to ceiling glazing which maximise views over the countryside.

The winners will be announced at an event in London, on 23 November.

S&P BRISTOL GROW INTO NEW STUDIO

Now in its 3rd year, S&P Bristol have moved into Temple Studios, a converted sorting depot now home to a hub of creative businesses. S&P are on the 1st floor with views over Temple Meads Station and Brunel’s former office, so if you’re passing through the train station come and say hello.

Chris Kelly leads the team of 6 architects and designers working across Commercial, Residential and Masterplanning projects primarily covering the South West, Midlands and South East.

The move to Temple Studios allows the Bristol team to continue to grow and deliver some of the large commercial schemes that we are currently working on including a 1 million sq.ft Masterplan north of Bristol and ongoing feasibility studies for major developments in the centre of Bristol’s shopping quarter.

We have an immediate opportunity for a talented and ambitious architect to take the lead on a growing number of projects in London, the South East and South West. Spratley & Partners is an established, medium-sized firm offering a genuine and exciting opportunity for personal development and career progression.

Working with select clients in the UK across the commercial, residential, education, hospitality and public sectors the successful architect will lead the design and delivery of projects with the support of an experienced senior management team. We have recently won some ground-breaking projects and are looking for candidates who can help deliver this exciting portfolio of work.

Spratley & Partners has a reputation for maximising potential: of people, design, planning and return on investment and the successful architect will demonstrate the same high standards. The ability to build strong relationships with clients and consultants is essential.

Henley-on-Thames is a beautiful market town in Oxfordshire with excellent transport links to London and the South East.

If you would like to join our talented team you will need to be:
- A fully qualified architect (ARB registered) with at least two years’ relevant UK experience
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Experience of Adobe Design Suite, SketchUp/Enscape and NBS Spec would be an advantage
- Able to demonstrate exceptional technical knowledge
- Experienced in working directly with clients and consultants
- Capable of leading a design team from concept to completion
- A good communicator with fluent written and spoken English
