In the 1940s - 1950s, a farmer in Lincolnshire needed a decoy goose, so he fashioned one up out of board, painted it and added some bolts to give it life.

Now, it is a beautiful decorative piece of folk art, foldable and versatile, adding charm wherever you decide to place it.

A pair of 18th Century vernacular Spanish chairs, with carved details and braided woven seating 🇪🇸 🪑

With primitive construction and beautiful wear from years of use, we present this stunning pair of highly unique chairs, still fully functional in a home environment.

They have developed a beautiful sun-kissed patina over their years of life, and was common place in rural households of Spain in 18th-19th Century.

A lovely example, covered in historic woodworm, full of character. A really naive construction but with really incredible carved details. Magic.

It has had a repair to one of the back legs which is solid and over the years has been varnished.

It is the perfect size to sit on any sideboard / table to give extra storage where needed.

Mounted on old pine, this antique Romanian bee skep really stood out to us as a lovely decorative object 🐝 🍯

With remnants of the hive to its interior, it’s a real talking point and would sit perfectly well in a country home interior full of dried flowers & foliage.

It’s not often we’ve seen ones that have been mounted, the bee keepers must have appreciated this one particularly!

As we approach near 1000 followers, we thought we’d introduce ourselves..

We are Gareth & Laur, the two dealers behind Forge & Twine.

It all started with our mutual love of history, interiors and living alternatively, appreciating a time long gone.

This is an utmost passion of ours and we intend to carry this throughout our lives together, buying and selling, making deals with other traders and interior designers & sourcing everywhere we can.

To us, it is more than an income, it is a way of life in which we cannot see ourselves thriving without. It is an expression of art, creating an atmosphere within an interior, creating a sanctuary of a home.

Follow us both at the start of our journey, maybe you will find something you love for yourself along the way.
