Another recent job completed by the team in Farnley, near Corbridge. 🌲✅

This project involved the removal of several large conifer trees, along with a crown reduction on a Sycamore tree to improve shape and manage its size safely.

As always, nothing went to waste:
🪾 All branches were chipped on site
🚜 A 10-ton tractor load of woodchip was donated to Whitley Chapel School
🪵 All timber was cut into rings and left with the customer for firewood

Careful dismantling in action! 🌲💪

Here are some photos of Simon lowering heavy sections from a Douglas Fir tree with precision and care. With the tree positioned in a flower bed, extra attention was needed to protect the surrounding plants… but thanks to the combined skill of Simon and Josh, not a single flower was harmed. 🌸

Our team have recently completed the removal of an Ash tree in Hexham due to Ash Dieback. 🌳

As the tree was within a conservation area, we took care of all the required paperwork before starting work.

Using climbing, ropes and rigging techniques, the tree was carefully dismantled and brought down safely.
Larger sections of timber were then removed quickly using our tractor-mounted crane. 🪵

To finish the job, we also cut back ivy and undergrowth around the site to ensure the nearby public footpaths were left clear and accessible.

We’ve been working with the Council to remove dangerous Ash trees affected by Ash Dieback, helping to reduce the risk to road users. 🚗🌳

Due to the nature of the work, lane closures have been in place most days, with some areas accessed via verge works to minimise disruption where possible. 🚧

Smaller branches have been chipped back into the rough verges, with all timber being removed for safety reasons.
Leaving it roadside can be hazardous, especially on fast roads like the A69, so it will be processed into firewood instead. 🪵

Bird nesting season is a time when we take extra care with all tree and hedge work to protect local wildlife. 🐦🌳

It runs from March to September, with peak activity between March and July.
It’s important to know that work isn’t banned during this time, but it must not disturb any active nests in line with the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. 🪺
