We’re looking for hardworking people to join the team at Northwood Agri Contracting.

The role is mainly fencing, with some landscaping work, and involves using modern machinery and equipment. It’s hands-on, physical work and you’ll be working outdoors across Northumberland in all weather conditions.

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided for the right person. However, a strong work ethic, good level of fitness, a practical mindset and a can-do attitude are essential. Experience in agriculture or outdoor work would be an advantage. Full driving license is essential.

We offer competitive rates of pay depending on experience, and all necessary work clothing will be provided ✅

We’re ideally looking for someone who is self-employed, although this can be discussed for the right candidate.

Flashback to when the ground was dry and the weather actually played ball 🌤️

A look back at some fencing completed by Northwood Agri over the last few months. Built using and Laversdale Timber, quality materials that do the job properly and last.

We’re always focused on keeping standards high, turning out tidy, solid work, and keeping customers happy. It’s been a very busy time, and we’re grateful for the continued support.

Making strong progress in Matfen 💪

We’re well underway here at Northwood Agri Contracting on a 13,000-metre fencing project for Matfen Estate. Things are shaping up beautifully! 🛠️

For this job, we’re using C4 tanalised timber supplied by Robertson Timber, paired with Tornado High-Tensile wire for durability.

Still plenty to do, but the results so far are spot-on and we’re looking forward to delivering a high-standard finish across the estate.

Throwback to a rewarding job we did back in the spring: 930 metres of stock fencing renewed with creosoted materials and high-tensile wire. 💪

Another one ticked off the list, this time a decent sized job for us just outside of Hexham. With plenty of hard work we got it done, 7200m stock net fence with top wire being electrified and Xt1 Ratchets attached to help keep it tight. 6 wooden gateways. All creosoted posts and tornado wire used. We were really happy with the results and the customers were very satisfied

🌱Landscaping🌱 - Here we had to cultivate areas of paddocks and garden around this lovely property which had some drainage done in the spring. We cultivated and levelled existing soil and brought in fresh top soil in sunken areas. We also then brought in more top soil to raise the ground level around the new stable block. Once all the soil levels were completed we spread high quality grass seeds and fertiliser and the results are exactly what we hoped for.

One of our recent fencing jobs for the Tyne Rivers Trust at Rochester. 1120m of stock net fencing and 680m plain wire fence. The stock net fences have been positioned to keep livestock out of drains to prevent erosion during the winter months. The plain wire fences with XT1 ratchets included to help aid with the tension over time have been put up along the river bank sides. Another one ticked off the list ✅

This was a landscaping job on a site in Leeds we did last year to reinstate council grassland areas after ground source heating systems had been installed. We are currently working there again this year and we called in to see how it’s looking. Safe to say the time and effort spent paid off with the grass and trees growing really well.
