This lounge was quite distressed having been neglected for a good number of years.

Day one was spent filling in holes, treating the black mould on the walls and ceiling and cutting out all the silicone around the French windows which had also turned black. This was left for several days to thoroughly dry out.

On my next visit, the ceiling was painted with two coats of quality white paint, and the walls also received two coats to brighten up the room.

On my final day, the skirting, architrave, door and beautiful fireplace were all treated with a fresh coat of white satinwood.

Quite a transformation!

At some point in the past an internal door had been repurposed on a garden storage shed.

It was now on the point of failing so with the brief of an "economical solution" I sourced a tongue and groove door, improved and reinforced the bracing, and then gave it two coats of oil to withstand the elements before hanging it with galvanised gate hinges and padlock bolt.

Set of new Victorian bath taps installed for a customer in Penn.

This involved pulling out the bath to reveal the access panel for the pipework to determine how the flexi pipes had been run below the floor as the customer had mentioned poor flow.

Some days it really feels like you are using every tool in the toolbox!

A customer had a loose set of kitchen taps, and due to the way the kitchen had been constructed and the butler sink was installed, there was no possible way of tightening them up without removing the sink.

Then to make matters worse the top of the sink was millimetres below the worktop, and the sink outlet protruded through the kitchen cupboard carcass so the sink would not simply (as simple as managing a 40 Kg sink is!) slide forwards and out.

This meant a section on the top of the cupboard had to be cut away, the sink came out, and the taps were straightened and tightened.

Then it was a case of adding reinforcement to the kitchen carcass, place the sink back into place, align, connect up all the waste pipes, test for leaks and apply fresh white silicone around the top to prevent water escaping and causing potential damage to the kitchen units.

Phew! Now for a cup of tea!

A Memorial Hall Trustee asked me to put up these four photos of Hazlemere then and now, taken from the same spot to show how our local area has developed over the years. Well worth going to see in the hall close up.

A repeat customer asked if I could box in some pipe work which had been installed to supply hot water to an external tap.

The customer purchased a simple white kitchen door front which I cut to size to create the pipe cover. After that a section of skirting was cut away and four plinth lock fixings were used to hold tight to the wall, but allow simple removal when access to the pipes is required.

Having built the deck and added the four posts a new customer in South Heath reached out to as ask if I would complete their Pergola.

No problem! A few adjustments were needed first to get everything straight and true and then the build went smoothly.

A few additions to a young lads' football den. This job comprised 90% measuring and calculating and 10% installing but well worth the effort.

Extremely pleasing to receive positive feedback concerning my workmanship.
