Sometimes it's hard to imagine what's hiding beneath years of wear and ageing finishes.
This customer contacted us about restoring their wooden hallway floor before putting their property on the market. The floor hadn't been treated in over 22 years and had gradually taken on a strong reddish tone.
When preparing the quotation, we discussed both lacquered and oiled finish options, with the lacquer initially being the customer's preferred choice. However, during our pre-project assessment, we spent time reviewing samples and discussing the appearance.
The customer was looking for a light, natural style. The floor was finished with Arboritec Miracle Oil in White. Miracle oil is a 100% solid two-component oil.
The difference was remarkable. The heavy red tones were softened, the natural character of the timber became much more visible, and the hallway felt lighter and fresher while still retaining the warmth of a real wood floor.
We believe informed customers make better decisions, which is why our quotations include links to YouTube videos explaining the differences between wood floor oil and lacquer finishes. We also share detailed project blogs covering completed wood floor sanding and refinishing projects, providing useful technical information, real-life examples and maintenance advice for those considering similar work.
The best part of any project is hearing what the customer thinks once they see the finished result ๐คฉ
"Firstly, WOW. What an amazing job Chris has done. Both Juliet and I were amazed at the result when we returned late Sunday, a stunning job. We cannot thank both of you enough"
