Conservation work at Shillington continues with more log-piles in both the garden and the uncut meadow. For the third year there were skylarks and short-eared owls nesting in the meadow. It is also home to countless field mice and a few voles. Unfortunately, the only commercial insect hotel has been torn to pieces by a hungry green woodpecker! Still, that's all part of the circle of life!
