That's me out of the walling game for awhile. Due to a misshape with a large house name stone I was walling in these two years past last march. When lowering it to ground when at 45 degrees my left knee popped and because of the sudden pain I dropped the stone breaking my right foot. Up to A and E bright and early the next day to see how bad it was. I knew my right foot was broken due to the rainbow colours and cracking noise but I was more concerned about my left knee as it was quite painful. I don't know if it was the language barrier or not because I only speak English the doctor didn't and I couldn't get him to understand I needed my left knee looking at as well as my foot, he finally sent me Down to x-ray they x-rayed my right foot but refused to look at my left knee
Back to see the doctor and still couldn't get him to understand I was concerned about my left knee. Left the place with a plastic boot on my right foot and a note to come back in 10 days for follow up x-ray. 10 days later am back seeing another doctor again I asked this chap please look at my left knee as it's painful, this is where it gets scary this fella must be a shaman, he just put his hand on my left knee and with even looking at it, looked me straight in the eyes and told me there's nothing wrong with your knee Martin. As you can imagine I thought I need to get the hell out of this place. After two years+ I couldn't take the pain any longer and it was getting worse so I went to a private hospital where they speak English and don't do witchcraft, immediately they take action scan my knee and x-ray it and then straight in to see the specialist knee man.
Your knee is a right off there's no cartilage left the bones wearing down because it's bone on bone and arthritis has set in, it needs replacing, with in weeks I'm in hospital and sporting a brand new knee. Apparently they see a lot of farmers, dry stone wallers and builders with worn out knees and hips due to the heavy physical work load. So it's a forced holiday for me for a few weeks if all goeswell. If anything like this happens to you get a second opinion asap before too much unrepairable damage is done. Have fun and use a loader for the big stones trust me it's a lot less painful. 😜
If I don't see you before I'll see you after
