A simple mix of wild and wildlife-friendly flowers. Nepeta 'Six hills Giant', Lunaria purpurea and Chaerophyllum temulum. The Nepeta is a large and very floriferous cultivar. We grow it beside the herb garden and beneath the roses by the pond. Bumblebees in particular love it. The lunaria or purple toadflax, seeds around all over! an easy plant, keep deadheading or picking it and it will flower until winter. The Chaerophyllum is a native umbellifer, which again seeds around and is a much loved, light an airy plant that fills in many gaps.

The lime-green head alerted me to this fly, sitting on top of a knautia flower. Swipe to see a close up. This is Sicus ferrugineus or the more evocative name - Ferruginous Bee-grabber! Wonderful name and it does what it says on the tin - the female hangs around flowers waiting for bumblebees and once grabbed it lays an egg. The larva then lives inside the bee! One to look out for. 🪰😳

Just rescued this Norfolk Hawker from a polytunnel . It appears to be newly emerged indicating breeding onsite. So exciting.

We’re delighted to be part of the 2026 RHS Partner Garden of The Year competition! 🌸

The RHS is inviting you to celebrate the RHS Partner Gardens that bring nature to life in exciting and imaginative ways.

This year’s theme is all about celebrating nature, from planting schemes bursting with seasonal colour to clever projects that support local wildlife. If your visit to our garden (or the pictures and videos we share) has inspired you or strengthened your connection with nature, we’d love to hear about it!

When voting, all voters can share what makes their chosen garden special in the comments section.

We’ve been so grateful for your continued support, and we’d love it if you would vote for us (voting now open).

What beauty is this? Cypripedium reginae f. album or White-flowered Showy Lady's Slipper Orchid. I was knocked back by this stunning flower. One stem, one flower for the first time. Find it in the woodland garden greenhouse when you visit.

As a Partner Garden we were invited to attend the Chelsea Flower Show yesterday. As well as meeting other Partner Gardeners we toured the show. The large and very beautiful carved head of the sleeping Gaia in the CPRE (Campaign for the Preservation of Rural England)'s "best in show" garden deservedly stole the show and very clearly conveyed their message. We also particularly enjoyed the Lady Garden Foundation 'Silent no more' Garden. Our north Norfolk designers , scooped the medals in the Smaller Show Garden category, some wonderful details, and the nursery displays and trade stand exhibits were first rate. A really enjoyable day.
