Two massive BUS changes are hitting this year. Are you ready? 📉
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme rules are shifting, bringing a huge opportunity for homeowners, but a serious cash flow risk for installers.
Here is what you need to know:
👉 1. Upfront Deductions Are Now Mandatory
You must deduct the grant value from your quote upfront. This means no more invoicing customers full price and refunding them after approval. While it's a great incentive for the homeowner, it leaves installers carrying the entire financial weight of the project while waiting for Ofgem approval.
👉 2. The Off-Grid Grant Hits £9,000 (Starting 21st July)
Homeowners completely off the gas grid (replacing oil or LPG) will see their grant boosted to £9,000. Demand is going to skyrocket, but so does the risk. Carrying multiple £9,000 upfront deductions across your pipeline could easily tie up tens of thousands in vital working capital.
