Recently completed garden transformation in Maidenbower for some very lovely clients. ๐ฟ
A few additional elements were added along the way, which have certainly enhanced the overall project and helped create a truly special outdoor living space.
Our clients approached us with a clear vision: they wanted to bring their garden into their living space, creating a seamless connection between the house and garden and transforming the entire area into one functional, usable space.
We started by constructing a raised patio level with the bifold doors, ensuring a smooth transition from indoors to outdoors. From there, we created two symmetrical stepped-down patios in each corner, maximising the available space and establishing distinct zones within the garden.
The right-hand patio has been designed as the main entertainment area, featuring an outdoor kitchen, TV and seating area. The left-hand side is squared off to the house and surrounded by planting beds that wrap around the patio, creating islands of planting that help define each area while adding texture, colour and interest throughout the garden.
We replaced all of the boundary fencing using anthracite grey galvanised steel posts, anthracite composite gravel boards and strong closeboard fence panels, creating a contemporary, durable and low-maintenance boundary.
To further enhance the entertainment area, we overclad a section of fencing around the right-hand patio using premium A-grade Western Red Cedar. The cedar wraps around the main entertaining space, adding warmth and natural character to the design, and has been protected with a clear Osmo oil finish to preserve its beauty and longevity.
A smaller patio was then created in the centre of the garden, perfectly positioned to be viewed from the bifold doors. Designed as a more intimate space, it will be the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine or two in the evening. Surrounded by planting that will continue to mature over time, it promises to become a peaceful and relaxing retreat.
We also installed a bespoke slatted screen with a matching gate, running from the house to the boundary fence. This creates a practical and attractive side storage and utility area while maintaining the clean, contemporary feel of the overall design.
Throughout the project, our clients were open to developing ideas and incorporating additional features, allowing us to refine and enhance the scheme as the build progressed.
Following the success of the garden transformation, we were also commissioned to construct a new driveway, which is currently underway and will provide additional parking while complementing the overall design of the property.
We're incredibly proud of how this project has come together and look forward to sharing the completed driveway very soon.
A big thanks to Adam Thomas - Talasey for ensuring we were supplied with appropriate samples along the way. The Talasey products really are something special. Their quality and finish allow us to create premium outdoor spaces that not only look fantastic but are built to stand the test of time.
