Heavy Pollarding the other day following cut points set by a TPO.
Pollarding allows for a heavy cut removing issues such as blocked light and leaf fall throughout the year while still keeping the tree alive.
this tree in particular was ideal to remove a large amount of weight that overhung a busy narrow road posing a danger in high winds and storms while not completely removing the tree.

🍂 We are approaching the perfect time of year for formative pruning and reductions of trees and hedges. As we leave Autumn for winter entering the dormant season heavier reductions can be performed with less stress and less chance of disease to most trees and hedges preparing them for spring whilst also avoiding nesting season restrictions. This is also the perfect time to prune apple and pear trees to ensure a healthy cycle of good fruiting wood (avoid winter pruning of cherry, plum and other stone fruit trees) 🍂
