A nice little job today which consisted of removal of this gas fire, it’s surround and hearth,
Then boarded up and plaster patched to blend in with the existing wall, finishing off with cutting a hole for air flow and installing a vent cover.

Last weeks work ,
This old airing cupboard was a waste of useful space, the customer had in mind to utilise the space for a second wc and of course here at Halcyon home solutions we like to accommodate people where we can.
A concealed cistern and pan were installed along with a basin with vanity unit and a new radiator .
Replacement of the old asbestos vent pipe to a new plastic stack to accommodate the new toilet outlet.
The customer is boxing in all the pipe work so finished room pictures will be added at a later date.

Other works carried out this week,
Combi boiler hot water intermittent hot and cold , suspected plate heat exchanger, also the diverter valve was faulty as hot water was travelling down the heating flow pipe , both these items were replaced along with a hot water temperature sensor seeing as it was already drained down.
X800 put into the system to help clean it ,
Faulty room stat/ timer changed for a wireless 7 day programmable room stat .
A service safety check on an unvented cylinder and a day assisting my colleague replacing a combi boiler but
Moving from upstairs cupboard to downstairs cupboard directly underneath .

A builder plumbed this toilet in and over kill on the three different bits of boxing in,
The customer wanted a better look so it was agreed that all this comes out and a concealed cistern and rimless toilet pan will be installed.
So today the removal stage and building of the new boxing in has been carried out today .

Back in St Ives today changing the two expansion vessels and pressure relief valves , all back on and hot water has been reinstated.

Before Christmas , the customer wasn’t happy with their existing floor tiles , so they were removed, latex levelling compound was put down and the floor was retiled , finishing off with the cupboard end panels being put back on, along with the kick boards/ plinths .
