We are open everyday 10am to 4 pm until mid July. All of the plants are bursting into leaf, there are some chunky overwintered perennials. The primroses are selling fast. Mothers Day is next Sunday the 15th March, we will have a selection of planted pots and containers for sale starting at pocket money prices to larger

A sunny day at last makes us think about the garden again. We have seed potatoes, onion, shallot sets. Mixed primroses, fresh locally grown rose bushes and all the usual shrubs, perennials, trees and composts. We are open every weekend 10am to 4pm. During February we are open most weekdays but if you are travelling any distance email or telephone and I can let you know if we are open. Enjoy being outside today!

It’s not a normal post for me, but I have a men’s Barbour wax jacket Northumbria style, chest 44 for sale. The hood has never been out of the pocket and the jacket out of the wardrobe no more than a handful of times. Online new these are priced between £230 and £290. I would like £80 to £100 if possible. The money will be donated to Age Uk.

I think this is the earliest I have made any holly wreaths, but a couple who I had made wreaths for many years and moved away 3 years ago to Devon, called in yesterday and said I don’t suppose you can make us some wreaths to leave at our loved ones graves before we go back to Devon, so it had to be done.

If you would like any holly wreaths or the fancier ones for doors making please order them so they are especially reserved for you. Keep safe during this awful day.

We are so happy to offer our support to Chatteris in Bloom. Next year Chatteris in Bloom have been nominated to participate in Britain in Bloom 2026 as well as Anglia in Bloom. Well done to the volunteers who have working parties every week throughout the year. They always need extra help and it’s a great way of making new friendships. On the 5th December they have a stall at the Chatteris market, selling homemade crafts and also a raffle, win a prize with every strip. Good luck and I hope the weather is kind to you.

Now we are at that quiet time between growing seasons, we are taking some time off from work. There are still some nice perennials, vegetable plants and herbs here, so we will open occasionally over the next six weeks. The best times to catch the Nursery open would be Tuesday and Thursday morning 10am to midday and weekends 11am to 3pm. By the second week of September we will be open again as normal. The pansies, violas and primroses will be planted up and growing on for autumn and spring sales.
