If you're looking for an alternative to the old wood effect laminate flooring, I would definitely consider SPC (Stone Polymer Composite).

I bought this from CRS Somerton, it's a product by Woodpecker and it was absolutely the correct choice for this job.

You'll notice the difference in weight, the SPC is much heavier and it comes with a built in underlay so you claw back a few quid here.

👍🏼It's very easy to install - score and snap, click together. No dust no mess.

👍🏼it's water resistant - which is why I chose it for this customers front porch, high traffic area with lots of wet shoes coming in and out.

👍🏼And it comes with a 25 year warranty!

For this installation I undercut the skirting boards so we could get rid of the awful trim round the edges and multiple angled joints!

Here's a throw back to a complete property renovation we did some years ago..

The front room was fairly straightforward; strip the walls, remove fire (with help from a qualified gas engineer), re plaster, sand floor boards, add a mantle, some tiles and skirting board. Then a lick of paint, with a bold feature colour to finish.

We did also relocate the radiator to under the window, stain the floor, and add a nice deep window ledge, blinds and light f**ting to really finish the room off! 🥂👌🏻

Nice morning for a bit of digging!

This fence post had shifted and the small panel rotted out. So I dug it out, re set it and built a new panel to f**t the gap.

I'm terrible at remembering the before picture but here's a "half way and after shot"!

This is part of a bigger project but particularly proud of these bits.

I can't claim the kudos for f**ting the window but what I have done is.. all the boarding and plastering around it, f**ted the window ledge. As well as blending this old building into the new extension.

A new skill for me was picking out the stones and plastering the wiggly line. Not perfect but the customer was very happy with the results! 👍🏽😃🍻

Another project comes to an end..

There was plenty to do to brighten up this little space. What started as a conservatory roof repair - ended up with; paint job, gutters, water butt, fence repairs, more paint, slabs, full length planter and flowers to go with it!

Just needs a jet wash and I'd say we're done! ✅👍🏻
