🌱The unique blooms of Corydalis 'Blue Heron', set off beautifully by the dark foliage of this wonderful Acer. All the new planting in this section is really thriving, so lovely to see 🌱

On the advice of the head of horticulture at Myerscough, I've sought to stretch the old horticultural legs this Autumn/Winter, working with some highly qualified people to learn as much as I possibly can.

A walloping great big thank you to Lachlan Rae for his continued patience with my ceaseless questions & inability to keep up with him🤣 An absolute mountain of knowledge, I don't think he ever left a question unanswered.

Lachlan trained at the Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh, won young horticulturist of the year, took care of the stunning gardens at Gresgarth Hall & presented Garden of the Year on Channel 4.

Cheers to you for your continued help. It's been a real experience. 🌱

🌱Today I worked alongside the UKs biggest amateur grower of sweet peas! There's always something to learn in the field of horticulture, I could quite happily have chewed his ear off all day. 😎
🌼Made some interesting connections Autumn & Winter. Talking plants is never a chore!

💚🌱Improving the soil here using this gorgeous mushroom compost as a mulch. 🌱
💚It's 100% organic, steam sterilised, pH neutral & already really well broken down so will be great to plant into when the weather improves. 🌞
🌼A wonderfully cost effective way to improve soil health.
😅Covered all the beds in record time before the rain this morning, quite the workout! 🌄

With the nursery closed until the spring, I'm out & about working on garden projects locally.

A beautiful setting today, planting a couple of trees, moving some peonies, pruning roses & prepping for a large delivery of mulch in the morning!

Absolutely love being back in the gardens!
