We fitted one of these last week and it's been getting a few "wait, where's the outside bit?" reactions, so here it is.

It's a Panasonic RAC Solo. It cools in summer and heats in winter, but the clever part is there's no big unit on the outside wall — none of that boxy thing you usually see stuck to the side of a house. All that's outside is two small round vents (second photo). That's it.

We'll be honest, we were a bit sceptical before we'd fitted one. But it does the job properly, it's quiet, and it looks a lot tidier than the usual setup. You can run it from the app too, which is handy.

It's good for the sort of room that's always too hot in summer — a bedroom you can't sleep in, a sunroom, an office that catches the afternoon sun. And if you're bothered about the vents being visible, they can be painted to match the wall.

Still fairly new up here so most folk haven't seen one. If you've got a room that's unbearable when it's warm out, drop us a message and we'll tell you straight whether it'd suit.

A well-prepared quotation does more than provide a number. It outlines system design, expected output, and potential savings, helping decision-makers assess whether solar aligns with their operational goals.

A commercial solar quotation is a detailed breakdown of the costs, design, and expected performance of a solar installation.

Large-scale renewable systems involve significant technical, structural, and electrical requirements, meaning quality standards cannot be left to chance.

MCS stands for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, a recognised standard in the UK renewable energy industry. It sets guidelines for the design, installation, and performance of small-scale renewable technologies, including solar PV and battery storage systems.

Commercial solar systems vary widely depending on building size, energy usage, and whether battery storage is included.

A detailed quote is more than just a final price. It should provide a full breakdown of system design, equipment, installation work, and expected performance. Without this detail, businesses risk underestimating both cost and system capability.

The growth of renewable energy in Inverness is not happening in isolation. It is being shaped by strong local partnerships between businesses, installers, and energy specialists who understand the unique needs of the region.

A strong partnership between businesses and a local solar installation company ensures that systems are designed with these regional factors in mind. This leads to better performance, more accurate system sizing, and improved long-term reliability.

One of the main reasons businesses are investing in solar and battery solutions is the ability to manage energy more effectively.

By storing excess energy, businesses can use their own electricity during peak times or after sunset. This reduces reliance on expensive grid electricity and improves overall efficiency.

Over the past few years, interest in solar technology has grown steadily across the Highlands. Businesses of all sizes, from retail units to industrial sites, are now exploring how renewable systems can support daily operations.

One of the main reasons behind the rise of commercial solar adoption is the long-term cost advantage.
