It’s safe to say we’ve been a bit quiet on social media lately… but behind the scenes it’s been anything but! 🌲💪

This has been our busiest start to the year yet and we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our clients - old and new - for the continued support and business. It really is appreciated.

From exciting projects around the North Coast and as far South as Perthshire, to local council work, utility powerline clearance and domestic tree surgery across Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire, we appreciate every single job. We’ve also met some great people and made some brilliant connections along the way, which makes the hard work even more worthwhile.

A massive thank you as well to the guys out on site putting in the hard work every day, along with all the subcontractors, suppliers and everyone behind the scenes who have helped out and kept everything running during such a busy start to the year.

We’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings for JS Tree Services Ltd 🙌

We will have truck loads of unseasoned softwood (spruce/pine) available tomorrow in the Inverurie area if anyone is interested 🪵 Timber will be cut to manageable length and delivered by tipping transit/trailer. PM for more details

When will it end 🌧️

Although we have had a very busy start to the year it feels like the weather has been against us every step of the way!

A great day for some Elm dismantling ☀️🌳

Continuing a project we began last year for a local estate, managing several dead and dangerous trees identified in a recent tree survey.

Fingers crossed the weather stays like this for a while - no more snow please ❄️😄

One of our teams are out today to carry out the removal of several trees within a shelter belt that had unfortunately been deliberately ring barked.

🔍 What is ring barking?
Ring barking (also known as girdling) is where a strip of bark is removed all the way around the trunk of a tree. This cuts off the flow of nutrients between the roots and the canopy. While the tree may stay standing for a period of time, it is effectively killed and becomes increasingly unstable and unsafe as it declines.

⚠️ In this case, the affected trees posed a risk to the surrounding area, so safe removal was the only responsible option.

Something a bit different this week ❄️

Due to the weather we have been unable to carry out our planned tree work.

Instead we have been assisting Aberdeenshire Council clearing snow and ice.

The Avant proving the ideal tool for small awkward areas and hard packed snow ⛄️

Due to the adverse weather conditions we have had to postpone our work for the next few days until some of the snow takes a shift.
