Another loft transformation completed in Kintore.

A large wooden loft ladder was installed, with the hatch relocated into a new bay and positioned so the ladder sits perfectly onto the landing. A safety step was also installed for secure and easy access.

Raised shelving was built along both sides with bull nosed fronts, allowing stored items to be kept off the floor and making the space more practical and organised.

The main area was then fitted with a raised loft floor and 200mm insulation to improve energy efficiency.

Loft job completed in Elgin.

Raised loft flooring installed, fully framed and braced to create a strong, usable storage area.

Ceiling opened to fit a 3-part wooden loft ladder. Bridle supports and Simpson Strong-Tie fixings used as part of the ladder opening for added strength.

Step formed for easier access.

Loft hatch perimeter routered out for a clean, smooth finish.

🔨 Another Large Loft Completed beside Elgin 🔨

Full loft flooring install completed this week — creating a strong, usable storage space for the homeowner.

This property already had a loft ladder fitted (not installed by us), but the existing truss layout wasn’t standard 600mm centres, so additional framing was required throughout to ensure everything was properly supported and built to last.

We installed:
✔ Raised loft floor system
✔ Additional structural framing
✔ Solid boarding throughout
✔️ Formed a safe access step
✔ Maintained insulation depth & airflow

✔️ Raised loft legs installed to allow for increased insulation depth
✔️ Fully framed out over the loft legs for a strong, solid flooring system
✔️ Boarding installed without compressing insulation

Even in newer homes the standard insulation depth often isn’t deep enough as was the case here!

Raising the floor correctly keeps the insulation performing as it should — while giving the customer proper, usable storage space.
