An architect’s job isn’t finished when the drawings are done.
This detail is a perfect example of why staying involved right through to completion matters.

Here, the sliding door disappears into a piece of fitted joinery — almost like a pocket door, but integrated into furniture rather than a wall. To make it work seamlessly, we collaborated closely with to choose the materials, finishes, ironmongery and to refine the mechanics behind the movement.

The result is smooth, clean and exactly as intended. We’re really happy with the finish.

In this small yard of a Liverpool terrace, we wanted to bring some real character — something that reflects the clients and lifts the space beyond the everyday.

We had a few raised eyebrows along the way…
“Really? Will this work?”

It’s the little things that make a big difference.
Handles, locks, latches — the pieces you touch every single day. These small decisions shape how a home feels in a way drawings alone can’t describe.

We considered the ironmongery on this project with real care and eventually settled on the .uk HALT range — one of my absolute favourites. Solid, beautifully simple, robust, and instantly noticeable in the hand.

Everyone who touched this lever on site commented on its tactile confidence.
These architectural moments ground you to your home — and they should never be overlooked.
