A few years ago, the sistern on my loo started making a dripping noise. At night, it nearly drove me up the wall. I satisfied myself that nothing was leaking - it was just slightly misaligned - and tried to ignore it. However, I often got up in the middle of the night just to check it was ok. This went on for...maybe a year! Out of the blue, one day, I came home to find my kitchen flooded by a leaky washing machine. I cracked on and called an emergency plumber immediately. This gave me to think, and I finally booked a plumber to have a look at the sistern. It took him about half an hour to stop it dripping. After months of irriation, I was able to have unbroken sleep again. I had forgotten how wonderful that is! It occurred to me recently that the build-up of clutter is like a dripping tap. It's not an emergency so we choose to ignore it whilst it causes constant irritation, trips us up, makes us lose our balance, steals our time while we try to locate things we need, and can even cause us sleepless nights. So my thought for today is - please don't wait for your stuff to create an emergency before you book a specialist who can deal with it for you now!
