A sensitive refurbishment and extension to a historic brick farmhouse in a rural Herefordshire village will create a magnificent 5 bedroom 3,700sq ft family home. Three other dwellings on the wider cider farm site complete with apple orchard are currently delayed in the planning process due to phosphate levels in the River Lugg. Hugely frustrating as the new homes could provide vital downsizing homes for older generations in the heart of a sustainable settlement. One barn conversion and two detached bungalows are planned on the wider site.

Yealm Garden Room - Design maquettes of a garden room extension to the rear of a family home. The space links the house in a more open and engaging way with the garden and usefully provides a covered link to the detached garage and utility room.

The varying fenestration designs of the different options seek to frame views of the countryside and Devon hedgerow boundary from within the property which is situated within the Yealm valley.

Connecting Home and Garden: A Mid-Terrace Marvel 🌿🏡

This mid-terrace property faced a common issue – a shaded patio separating it from its lovely garden. Our solution? Practical and stylish!

🪟 Bathed in Light: We designed an apex window rear extension with ample rooflights, flooding the interior with natural light.

🧱 Character Meets Coziness: The red brick exterior adds character and warmth, continuing seamlessly into the kitchen backsplash.

🍽️ Seamless Harmony: The new kitchen island lines up perfectly with the dining table, creating a spacious, inviting atmosphere.

❤️ Heart of the Home: This new space quickly became the family's favourite, bringing everyone together.

Our design thoughtfully maximises the southern exposure, flooding the interior with natural light through expansive double-height glazing.

The garden has been thoughtfully landscaped, featuring a bespoke fire pit, BBQ, and inviting patio area – all harmoniously crafted with natural stone.

The extension's structural core is built with Nudura ICF, ensuring unparalleled warmth and airtightness.

Paying homage to the land's rich heritage, the masons reclaimed granite from the surrounding fields, merging it with slate to achieve an exceptional standard of craftsmanship.
