Meet Maxine 💛 if you’ve bought anything fabric from us in the last 13 years then it’s come through her hands! 🙌

Next up… we’re at the mill, and this is Victoria!

Victoria has been with us since 2023 but before that she was one of Modo’s best and most loyal customers. She cares almost more than we do about the quality of our products and very little gets past her expert eye 👀 . As a core customer she’s a especially useful when we’re developing new products as her seal of approval is a very good sign 💪

She can be surrounded by mountains of packing and post, with a to-do list as long as her arm, and somehow she’s still smiling and noticing any mistakes 🤗

She’s adaptable, completely unflappable and works across both the mill and the shop — where our bricks and mortar customers absolutely love her. She’s just a total joy and delight to work with ❤️

It clearly runs in the family too… last Christmas her young daughter helped her out at one of our late-night shopping events, and the first thing she said when she opened her eyes the next morning was, “Mum, we mustn’t forget that lady’s sign order!” 😂

Next up, may we present Ro! 💫

When she’s not training to be a dancer, she’s working her magic in the shop instead.

Ro is an absolute natural shopkeeper. She has a brilliant eye for displays, notices all the little details and is really tuned into the customer experience — she just instinctively gets how a shop should look and feel.
But her talents don’t end here…she’s also a pretty cool niece too 💛

She’s off to dance school in September 💃 but, just like Maisy, luckily for us she’s staying local enough that we get to keep her at Modo on the weekends 🥳

So if you pop in and everything’s looking particularly lovely, there’s a good chance Ro’s had something to do with it ❤️

This is Maisy 🤗

She’s an absolute dream team member…super reliable, hardworking, ridiculously calm and collected, always smiling and, perhaps most importantly, has the most legible handwriting in the shop 😂

Working at Modo isn’t just about serving customers. Our shop team also muck in with some of the making, packing and general Modo goings-on. Maisy prepared a wholesale order for us the other day with absolute precision in less than an hour 👌

When she’s not being an excellent keeper of the shop, she’s busy acing her A-Levels and getting ready to head off to med school 🙌 Luckily for us, she’s staying in Leeds, so we get to keep her at Modo on weekends 🥳

If you’re in the shop and Maisy’s behind the counter, say hi — you’re in very safe (future doctor) hands ❤️

What a scorcher of a weekend ☀️ It’s been too hot for much, so we’ve had a go at fixing our old rotten sash windows 🥴 cos that’s not at all an overwhelming job to do in 1000 degrees 🤪
We’ve slept all weekend with gaping holes where windows should be, birds and moths and stuff coming in 😂
When the windows got too much we’ve just hung around staring at stuff and trying to stay cool. Love a bit of just staring at stuff 🙂
