A project from last winter transforming an overgrown section of garden into a shady rest spot (after and before pics). The narrow pathway opens up into a circular seating area, creating space for a private seating spot immersed in the surrounding planting. A simple design with lots of natural materials and relaxed planting gives a lovely place for a cuppa in the shade. Needed it this summer!

With hosepipe bans now starting, this dry summer is really making us think about how we keep our gardens looking good in the future.

This Med style garden is designed to cope with drought conditions. Parched lawn is replaced with gravel, which forms the pathways but also a moisture retaining mulch for the plant borders. Plants such as Rosemary, Echinops (globe thistle), Thyme and Stipa tenuissima thrive in really well drained soil and all grow here in the UK.
