The old turf was removed Monday this week. During today I unloaded the top soil, raked it over the area, flattened the soil, scattered fertiliser and finally laid the new turfs.

Here are two borders which I've recently been preparing. The border where I need to remove more turf will have several shrubs installed this side of Christmas with flowering perennials planned to be planted in spring next year.
With the other long border, the back part will have grass seed sown, the front part will have grasses and tall flowering perennials planted in a weeks time to create a small prairie garden.
