The 190 doing its thing. Most tree surgeons or foresters have a chipper more often towed by a vehicle such as a van or a pick up. While building my company I opted for tracked chipper which in my opinion suited me more, this enables myself and the team to get places where a towed generally won’t. in this video you can see the team are in a massively overgrown garden and chipping and tracking over ruts, old stumps and other bits of brash that’s about to be chipped. If you have a job in a hard to reach location give us a shout and hopefully we can help.

A the pollarding of some poplars in bunkers hill this week. Having been previously surveyed and deemed dangerous these biggens needed abit of a tidy up. We brought them all from approximately 80ft to 15ft. With use of sections 7 traffic management we was able to temporarily stop the road when necessary to drop large sections of these trees before the jcb came along to pick them up. Once removed from the road what was able to be was chipped into tractor and trailer before the stems being tidying up and given to the local horse livery to be used as horse jumps.(I’ll post a picture of them being used soon)

Trees on your property are your responsibility and should be surveys/ professionally checked every 3-5 years to comply with insurance, these poplars are now safe where they pose no threat to the active road next to them and are now at a much more self manageable level for the client.
I enjoyed getting my teeth sunk into this job.

A before and after of making this chestnut tree abit more handsome, being part of the view in an upcoming wedding the client asked for the for the shrubs and brambles around the base to be removed to improve the aesthetic’s, with a mix of chainsaw work hedgecutter and strimmer we really did open up the base of this tree and view that comes with it.

Some recent pollarding we have complete over the past week, two willows in Wendlebury and 26 limes in Brackley.
Pollarding is a very common way of reducing trees that’s effective on most broadleaf species. Allowing the of removal of larger limb’s and being able to dramatically decrease the size of trees when necessary.
If pollarding is something you consider for your tree please don’t hesitate to ask, I’m always happy to advise as best I can to get the best result for you and the tree’s health.

Firstly, thank you too BMN Services for bringing me along on this job (and taking the before and after photos😅) the last few days we’ve been at regular of BMNs removing some trees…
The yew tree: as lovely as it was it was too large for it location, not only encroaching on the house and causing damp, subsidence an plenty of shading but also getting too close to the near by 3 faze electric wires. Between ourself and the client we decided that the best action to fell with intention of replanting a tree in better suited location within the garden.
drive of the property: we also decided to remove what was really a mess of an old boundary hedge which has brighten up the location massively ready for a BMN fence to replace it.
The client decided he wanted to keep the wood but for it to be cut into manageable size bits so that it can be used to keep them cosy for a few winters to come.

A delicate reduction of this Eucalyptus.
As it goes I didn’t get a before picture (typical 🙄) of this Eucalyptus in Anyho, having taken off 2-3 meters off the branch length we have given it light reduction to remove weight and density from the canopy. This will not only befit the tree prolonging its growing life and reducing its likelyness to have tears out it also benefits the trees and shrubs surrounding it giving them more opportunity for light and moisture.
All the waste produced from this job was chipped neatly into pile where it will break down over the next few months and be used on some of the newly planted trees near by as mulch.

It’s no secret that I enjoy big kit!!!
Here are some snaps of the large toys we’ve had recently out on site.
No matter how small or how large the job is we can sort it, weather that is myself and the team or weather we bring in friends.
Domestic or commercial. Planned or emergency work.

Having recently been to the ARB show (and spent too much as you do 😆) I’m totally in ore of these wood work peaces , not my work. It’s amazing to see what can be done with what is technically a bi/waste product of our job. As most know I personally like to recycle my waste produced, with good timber(hardwoods) being used for firewood and bad timber(softwoods) & wood chippings being sent for renewable energy. I have ideas and plans coming soon for more ways in which we are going to be using “waste product” hopefully this means we have a wider range of options for not only ourselves but customers also and nothing gets left unused.

A small horse chestnut removal for a close friend on mine completed Sunday just passed, with branches being chipped and recycled and timber being cut into manageable size pieces and left for his logs burner.
If the day ends in a y we don’t mind working.
Being in a conservation area we had to put in for permission before working on the tree. Do bear in mind these factors before carrying out work on trees and not all work asked for is permitted. as arborists we do advise for the best practice and most suitable options for your needs but sometimes we are at the opinion of local community.
