Why I Don’t Just Stick to One Fixed Rate?

One question I get asked a lot is: “Do you charge hourly or a fixed rate?”
The honest answer is: it depends, and it’s all about what’s best value for you.

🔧 For small jobs (like a quick repair or simple fix), I’ll often have a per-job rate. That way, you know upfront what it’ll cost and there are no surprises.

⏱ For medium jobs that take a couple of hours, an hourly rate makes sense. You only pay for the time it takes, and that keeps things fair.

📆 But for bigger jobs where there’s plenty of work, charging by the hour could end up costing you more. In those cases, a day rate is often cheaper for you — and it allows me to focus on getting everything done properly without the clock ticking in the background.

This is also why I prefer to see the bigger jobs first. It means I can:
✔️ Make sure you’re getting the right rate.
✔️ Spot any hidden snags before they become an issue.
✔️ Give you a fair, transparent price you can trust.

At the end of the day, I don’t just “pick a number” — I look at what’s fair and what makes the most sense for the work you need done. My goal is always to keep things clear, honest, and good value for you.
