The presence of the polypore fungus, meripilus giganteus, on this mature beech in Bearsden suggests the very likely possibility of white rot... This potentially means tree failure and could be a very dangerous situation considering the height of the tree and the fact that it's leaning over a block of flats. We've been advising on the severity of the situation and the essential work required.
