This customer was a plant lover and wanted to remove her lawn to be replaced by several beds. Clinton West Coast Plus was called in to remove the lawn. No concrete was allowed so the edging stones were packed in naturally with soil. A large rockery was created and the paths were chipped.

I’m sure she’ll have a lot of fun planting them up in 2022.

Over the years I have seen first hand the problems with drainage in the gardens of new build properties. Often they are a developers dumping ground covered by a sprinkling of “top soil” which contains large rocks and stones.

This garden was no different and within an hour of beginning work it was clear to see why. Under the top soil was thick, soft clay - so soft that it was hard to even get it off the spade. Luckily I had enlisted the help of Clinton West Coast Plus with his trusty micro digger who without we simply would not have been able to do this job.

More than 50 tonnes of waste was removed from the garden - on some of the hottest days of the year. A herringbone land drain was installed which ran into a soakaway crate capable of holding more than 900 litres of water. Good quality top soil was brought in and levelled allowing us to then lay the new turf - both of which were provided by Rukeri.

Customer was delighted with the outcome and now looking forward to getting the borders planted.

I love this lawn!

A few weeks ago it was struggling with red thread given all of the humid conditions of late but the application of the right products at the right time and it has bounced back to its best.

Nice turfing job completed this week.

An old tired lawn that had been ruined by the dog of the previous owner was removed. Several inches of premium top soil was then added and levelled which will provide the new turf with excellent drainage and nutrition for years to come.

Conifer hedges were also pruned.

Have been concentrating on lawn care recently and it’s starting to come together. A lot of hard work was put in towards the end of the season last year which has paid off so here are a collection of photos so far this year.
Looking forward to the end of the frost so more hard work can commence!
