A Little Bit Fancy

A Little Bit Fancy I create beautiful cushions, blinds and curtains. Reupholstery is also part of my service. The world pandemic has changed us all.

It has caused me to stop, consider and change. Change what I do and why I do it.

Hello, I'm Sarah, the founder of 'A Little Bit Fancy'. Having been a self employed home carer for some years, I paused to consider my next venture - what would I love to do?

'A Little Bit Fancy' started as a little bit of fun but has blossomed into something so rewarding, so fulfilling. Something far beyond my expe

ctation. I am blessed to be able to do what I do. We strive to being masters of our craft. Our commitment to quality, handmade products, incomparable customer service and care keep our customer community coming back again and again. Endeavouring to be constantly evolving and diversifying, we are continuing to expand our offerings based on how we can best serve our customers. Thank you so very much for choosing something A Little Bit Fancy today.

Now this is a transformation…. A Laura Ashley chair with a loose cover given a stunning facelift.
It was goodbye to the loose cover and hello to being fully reupholstered.
The fabric used is a Arbuthnot design and is totally in keeping with the style of chair.
Please note the spot on pattern repeat.
Excellent job by A Little Bit Fancy x

If a window seat is worth doing it is worth doing well, the most important details are …

1 - fabric shouldn’t be too matchy matchy
2- Your cushion needs to fit the shape of your sill perfectly
3- And this one is the lost important….your curtains should touch your cushion but not crumple…..

All three golden rules are absolutely spot on,
1 - A ditsy Liberty print paired with a vintage velvet go perfectly together as the velvet picks out the rose pink in the curtains.
2 - a template was taken to make sure the foam insert fitted perfectly, including the wraps around the reveal.
3 - for me the curtains should touch, not slouch, not hover, rest!!!!

You cannot argue that this really is a perfect window….

The request was - double sided, unlined, roman blinds to be fitted to 2 kitchen windows….the best bit, both blinds are operated by a remote control. A fantastic solution when reaching for the cords could be tricky or dangerous.
The control was expertly tuned in by Andy (as that is beyond me).
Being a stripe it is important that the stripes run smoothly when you sew in your rod pockets. Luckily I do love a pattern match so a lot of time was taken to make sure that this was spot on. A wonky stripe can ruin the effect.
Beautiful, stylish and functional blinds by A Little Bit Fancy.

When my lovely client asked me to restore her Parker Knoll chair, the answer was always going to be yes…but after seeing the chair I could not wait to get started…totally striped back, frame lovingly sanded back and waxed by Andy, new foam and reupholstered. She is ready to be enjoyed once more.
It is so important at a little bit fancy to improve without taking away the comfort and history….she was originally purchased from Donovan’s in Kingsbridge as confirmed by the label attached underneath.
Just look at the curves in the wood….you don’t see these very often, but if you are lucky enough to come across one, grab it and send it in the direction of
A Little Bit Fancy.

When you need blackout to mean blackout!!!! Unfortunately Venetian blinds in an apex window just will not cut it. Curtains are the best way to go.
2 sets of single pinch pleat custom made curtains, to fit into these tricky shaped windows.
Made using a recycled cotton fabric, they look lovely and create a completely blacked out environment for a mid day nap…plain and stylish.

This was a lovely project…..this sofa had to be stripped right back, rewebbed and springs reattached. New padding and one of my favourite fabrics applied, the strawberry thief….it just suits the age and style of this chair, and completely distracts you when you are working with it, the detail in the artwork and the story it tells.
Stunning, and sitting proudly back in its home for many years to come.
Beautiful, I think you’ll agree .
