Heatwave Lawn Care Advice π
With temperatures forecast to exceed 35Β°C for the next week, lawns are likely to come under significant stress.
If you're happy to water your lawn, now is the time to start. A few tips to help keep it looking its best:
β’ Water early in the morning (5β8am) or late in the evening (after 8pm).β’ Water deeply 2β3 times per week rather than giving it a light sprinkle every day. This encourages deeper root growth and makes the lawn more resilient.β’ Aim to apply around 25β30mm of water per week, including any rainfall.β’ Leave the grass a little longer than usual and avoid mowing during the hottest part of the day.β’ If your lawn has recently been renovated or newly seeded, it will need more frequent watering to keep the surface consistently moist.
If your lawn does start to brown, don't panic. Most established lawns will recover once cooler, wetter weather returns.
