We are delighted to welcome Ursula Key-Davis who will be giving “A Masterclass on Pelargoniums”.
Ursula will cover a brief history, cultural advice, taking cuttings overwintering etc. as well as looking at some of her favourite Pelargoniums.
Ursula is the foremost pelargonium expert in the UK. In 1968, along with her sister, Angela Tandy, they took over Fibrex Nurseries in Warwickshire, which had been started by their parents, Hazel and Dick Key.
Ursula held the world’s largest National Collection of Pelargoniums, over 2,000 species and cultivars and was at the forefront of the cultivation, breeding and preservation of these plants.
Sadly the nursery closed in 2023, a huge loss, one of our Great British Nurseries, which specialised in pelargoniums, ferns and ivies. Above all Ursula, Angela and Helena are the loveliest people in the world, who are always ready to offer advice so that we can have success in growing their very special plants.
Following the lecture John’s Garden is open to guests to enjoy at their leisure for the remainder of the day. The garden closes at 4pm.
