When disabled adaptations look this good!!

Another beautiful and well planned out room created a few weeks back for a client.

The room was fully stripped back as with all our jobs to ensure any water damaged plasterboard or timber is removed so nothing is getting hidden.

Another clean and fresh room with the usual high standards of install to match.

Another delighted client and it’s easy to see why.

If ever there’s a good time get a heat pump fitted…..

This is the latest feedback from our recent installation in Kinneswood.

The client had considered getting a new oil boiler and radiators however we managed to convince her otherwise!

This was a large project and did involve fitting overlay underfloor heating throughout the property, but the results speak for themselves.

The initial enquiry received for our latest install of a .uk UK was to supply and fit a new oil boiler and radiator system in the clients home.

The property was currently bring heated by a wood burner in the main lounge area and solid fuel back boiler in the kitchen area of the property giving little and sustained heat.

We discussed options between the 2 heat sources and the heat emitters to use and the client opted for the ASHP and Systems Ltd ambideck 20 on the ground floor and on the upstairs bedrooms.

The client benefited from the Home Energy Scotland rural uplift grant of £9000.00 and the interest free loan available making this the better and more efficient install.

We came across a few issues during the installation however these were dealt with causing a slight delay, however the client now has an operational heating system within their home.

All works is carried out in house, this gives our clients the confidence when choosing renewable technologies within their home in the event of any issues that may arise.

We will monitor this system remotely and make changes if and when required to ensure our client is getting the most out of their system.

Another .uk Arotherm Plus installed for a client in St Andrews completed yesterday.

Ourselves were one of the companies invited to quote for the works and thankfully they preferred our approach and not giving them the hard sell and only straight up advice.

There are many different factors when it comes to installing a heat pump and what’s required, on this install we utilised the existing pipework and upgraded 5 radiators with a design flow temperature of 45c with an internal temperature of 21c.

We don’t just fit and forget, we monitor these installs remotely to see how they perform to ensure we are getting the best performance from them.

Be careful out their kids!!

There’s companies trying to sell you a new boiler that you don’t need!!

likely done myself out of a couple of boiler changes last night but sadly partly it shows the state of the construction industry.

One was a 7 year old heat only boiler, not an overly great install however this was not the main issue. The client as called another local company as the heating wasn’t running, changed the pump then proceeded to tell the client the boiler was making noises and he needed another.

Naturally he was obtaining quotes and ourselves was one of the chosen parties, naturally I couldn’t see how a boiler of this age needs replaced, so I decided to have a look at it, within 5 minutes the boiler was running and burning perfectly.

The second was a 11 year old Worcester combination boiler, 3 expansion vessels changed within that time, seems slightly excessive, however the client was told they needed a bigger boiler, I disagreed, I asked if a Heatloss had ever been done on the property and the answer was no.

I then used a commonly known website to be told they needed a 7kw heat pump 🤔 so all they needed boiler wise was 7kw to heat the home, 1 shower in the property so essentially a 25kw combi.

We all can make mistakes, but on both these occasions I see lack of either knowledge, experience or overall care and respect for other peoples money.

The reality is, people have no idea what’s is and is not good standards, or even what morals companies have, we’re loosing what I was taught as a person from my parents and how to treat clients and their properties from my journeyman.

In a way I’m glad I’ve grown my business to what it was through honesty and aiming to be fair and what I see as value in my own experience in the industry, 33 years, and through my own projects.

As another year of business comes to a close, I would personally like to thank all our clients, new and old, for their continued business and support throughout 2025.

As with any small business, we continue to face challenges, which we aim to overcome.

Celebrating 23 years in business this year, and 33 years within the industry, my aim has always been to carry out work to a high standard, with the service to back it up.

Although it’s my name above the door, as they say, I only play a small part in the day-to-day running of the business. Therefore, I would like to thank the team for the hard work they have put in throughout the year, along with our subcontractors who assist on jobs, and the main contractors who allow us to work alongside them.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a fulfilling 2026 when it arrives.
