Here’s a recent project carried out by our Fife Roofers team in Anstruther, where the old slate roof was ready to come off and be replaced.

As part of The Roofing Company Scotland group, our regional teams follow the same careful approach on every roof: strip it back properly, check the timbers, fixings and any hidden issues, then rebuild with long-term performance in mind.

Slipped, cracked or tired slates can let water in sooner than many homeowners realise, especially before spells of heavy rain. Taking the time to inspect the roof properly at this stage helps avoid missed problems and gives the new roof the best possible start. 🏠

We’re proud of the way our local teams work across Scotland — tidy, thorough and focused on doing the job properly.

If you’re in Fife and concerned about your roof, send us a message and we’ll have our Fife Roofers team get in touch.

Here’s an ongoing new slate roof by our Fife Roofers team in Anstruther. 🏠

From the ground, this older slate roof looked weathered but fairly normal. Once scaffold was up and the team carried out a proper inspection, there were several issues that needed attention.

They found slipped and cracked slates around the dormer, old patch repairs starting to lift, damaged cement and stonework at the cheek, and heavily worn ridge details with exposed fixing points.

It’s the kind of damage that often builds slowly after wind, rain and frost. A small ceiling stain was the first sign for the homeowner, but the roof had clearly been letting water work its way in for some time.

Our Fife Roofers team took the time to check the full area properly, not just the obvious leak point, so the repair supports the long-term performance of the roof.

If you’ve noticed loose slates, damp around a dormer, or mortar in the gutters, send us a message and our Fife Roofers team will be happy to help.

Sunny days can make roof problems easy to ignore.

On a recent Dundee job completed by our Dundee Roofers team, the dry weather made it much easier to spot the small things — slipped slates, tired flashing, moss in the gutters and pointing starting to break down.

A lot of Dundee homes, especially older stone properties, have roofs full of character with chimneys, dormers and tricky access. They’re worth checking properly before the next spell of heavy rain turns a small issue into a stressful one.

If you’ve noticed something that doesn’t look quite right, our Dundee team can take a look and give you honest advice.

Our Fife Roofers team recently completed this repair job in Kirkcaldy, fitting a new lead apron on the copings and carrying out slate repairs to help keep the roof watertight and tidy.

Loose slates and failing leadwork can allow water in before it becomes obvious inside the home. On older properties especially, small defects are worth dealing with early to prevent staining, damp patches, timber issues or more costly repairs later on.

As part of The Roofing Company Scotland, our regional teams follow the same careful approach: assess the problem properly, repair what needs attention, and leave the roof sound, neat and ready to perform as it should.

We’re proud of the day-to-day standards our local teams maintain across Scotland, whether it’s slate repairs, leadwork, pointing, ridge work, chimneys or gutters.

If you’ve spotted slipped slates, cracks, staining or suspect leadwork, send us a message and we’ll have our Fife Roofers team get in touch.

Here’s a recent project completed by our Fife Roofers team in Kirkcaldy. 🏠

With slate roofs, the problem often isn’t in the obvious middle section. It’s usually around the dormer, gutter line, ridge or roof edges — the small areas taking the most weather.

From the ground, this roof looked fairly tidy. Once our team inspected it properly, they found early signs of wear around the dormer cheeks and lower slates above the gutter. These are the areas where rainwater can start tracking in, especially during heavy wind and rain.

The frustrating part for homeowners is that leaks like this don’t always show straight away. You might notice a damp mark beside a window, bubbling paint, a musty smell upstairs or an overflowing gutter long before you see water dripping inside.

Our Fife Roofers team checked the vulnerable points carefully and advised on the right repair before the issue became more serious.

If you’re unsure about a slate dormer or roof detail on your home, send us a message and our Fife Roofers team will be happy to help.
